BaB Fave DeJuan Blair Q & A'd by DraftExpress.com
I think he'll be a good player and would provide things the Bulls need and would be great as a 20-25 mpg guy. However, due to his lack of quickness and height, he can really only play one position, PF. I don't know if the lack of versatility is what you want out of a bench player, especially one you're drafting at 16th overall, and I'd be hesitant to draft him as a future starter. Which is interesting because they talk about the Nets possibly drafting him at 11th, and I could definitely see that considering the make-up of their team their dream of getting LeBron James.

He's got a certain level of nasty I like
I don’t think he’d be a bad pick at 16 at all, depending on who else is there. I like Tyrus a lot, and I’m by no means saying I want him gone or anything like that, but it would be nice to have a potentially major rebounder to platoon with him to some degree. I’d prefer that combo, anyway, to the Thomas’ combo.

I would, too.
Well, if they ship Deng out and would be open to playing Tyrus Thomas 10-12 mpg at SF, I’d like it fine. But I don’t think they’ll do that. They should still be trying to get Thomas 33-36 mpg, and I don’t think Blair makes much of a difference at 15 mpg. If both Thomas and Noah stick, and Asik is ever any good, I think it would turn into a somewhat wasted pick. And if Thomas doesn’t stick (which there is obviously a possibility of) I’m not sure how much I like Blair starting next to Noah because they do a lot of similar things, even if they go about it different ways. That’s why I think Blair next to Lopez would be great because they are very different.

I agree he'd be a great pick for NJ
And not the perfect fit for Chicago. I tend to err on the side of drafting BPA over need. I’m not hugely into draft analysis yet (although I’m getting dang excited about it watching the NFL draft right now), but based on what limited info I have I can see him being the best left at 16, if he’s even there. It could cause a minutes problem, though, you’re definitely right there.
It’s funny, because I can totally see myself getting reattached to Lu if he can come back healthy and play well again, but right now he’s the guy I would least mind seeing traded (of the regular rotation, obviously). I guess in my case, absence does not make the heart grow fonder.

I'll agree to that to an extent.
Once you get into the “teens”, I think there is (or maybe just my opinion that it should be) a slow transition from BPA to need. But then, of course, you need to define best player available. Is it the guy with the highest floor or the highest ceiling? Or some combination. I think in this general area, Blair probably has the slight edge over someone like Terrance Williams or Gerald Henderson, but I think both of those guys probably have a much higher ceiling.
But yeah, draft talk will be upon us all in full force in a week… unfortunately. :(

If we don't draft Blair,
then I am on the T-Will bandwagon. If BG is gone, I could also go for Ellington.

it's so hard to tell what our needs are at this point
It all depends on whether we are going to attempt to get Gordon back(Hopefully). Also what’s going to happen with Deng or Hinrich? Are we going to attempt to trade them? How does this organization feel about Salmons moving forward? He can opt-out after next season. Or are we going to package our picks together to get a bigger asset? There’s a lot of questions that need to be answered. I like Blair-he reminds of a rich mans milsap.

This is a shitty draft
If you can get a 20-25 mpg guy with the 16th pick, that’s great value.
