Yet another 2k9 worthless comment

if you simulate a couple a seasons, d-rose will constantly be put on one of the defensive teams, thats without the user actually doing anything.

On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!

I constantly take the Bobcats

Partly from superstition.
But anyway for some reason they aren’t letting him go off when I’m working with that franchise.
They even had Russel Westbrooke win RoTY then he just disappeared.

Same thing happend to me!!

except i was using the bulls and d.rose of course got rookie of the year…but yea westbrook starts off as roses’ number one rival, and then like three or four seasons later i dont know where he goes, like i play his team and dont even remember him being on the court.

Personally my favorite thing is drafting prospects in the game, i love scouting players, i wish they would make it more indepth….

off topic from this post but here are some things id want to see in 2k10:

-Fake abilities….id like the ability to drive the lane, tap the pass button, and instead of passing the ball, you do like a fake pass. IT wont do much against the cpu, but it would help when playing human players. Also the same thing with the block button. I mean in real life who jumps to block shots a thousand times (except thomas) most good defenders just do mini hops and wait for the best timing before actually commiting on a block.

-Lock on defense does something more than lock on….I like how they weakened the lock on defense state (in 2k8 a guy like shaq could be your best peremeter defender and stop guys like kobe with ease) but i wish it still had some affect. I hate the fact that i can be locked on a guy, but he can still shoot a jumper in my face and the announcers talk about how there was no defense. Even the shading thing is almost pointless to use, and how about having a hand up….you can put ure hands up but it rarely ever does anything….i mean there is more to defense than blocks and steals and for some reason this version of 2k is missing that fundamental criteria.

-NCAA reference….2k owns an ncaa licence so they should use it a bit. Just have some headlines that talk about the tournament and which prospects are doing what, give prospects hype before you scout them, that way you know which players are gonna definetly be in the lottery (just on hype alone) and you can find the sleepers in the draft.

-inability to alter player stats….once you start an assocation mode, you should be forbidden from changing a players attributes. In 2k9 you can even change salary!!!!! It just makes things cheap and when you get frustrated you may go do something drastic like give kirk hinrich a 99 rating for 3 pt shooting and stealing (not that id do that……) 2k should take that temptation away finally.

-make money and do something….2k should make the goal of assocation mode to keep the fans coming in, much like what a real gm should do. Making certain trades can affect how many people come watch your game, and making alot of menue gives you more options to spend money. Its more realistic and would encourage people from trading players for draft picks….

theres alot more but i gotta go now so ill let this one sit…maybe a topic like this deserves its own post or something……maybe…

Its odd I don’t think I saw him even come off the bench maybe hes been injured…..for like 3 seasons.

You’d be able to fake only when driving?

I know Jameer Nelson-Steve Blake-Mike Bibby- all PGs with a jumper burn me. All my teams mainly focus on defense too but when I play the opposing team has to average over 50%. Its only because we force a bazillion turnovers in a game that we win.

Dang you can do that with stats? I need to bring down Jameer Nelsons 3pt then. j/k
Seriously that guy kills us in the conference finals.

Yeah those are some good ideas I never thought of any of them because I’m lazy. I just curse at the tv and say how impossible something is.

when i play i 'try' to be realistic

its so easy, after two season derrick rose without you putting any effort, becomes a beast, so its so easy to just give him the ball and let him do his thing. But i purposely slow it down, i try to mimic what the real players could do, at least on my team.

In 2k9 lebron james is beastly but the one that seems to be the most dominant player is Durant. I dont know if its because i started my association just after all-star break (when durants stats were probably updated and he was at his best) or if his potential is extremely high or what, but the cpu sets the thunder with westbrook, thabo, green, and then durant at pf. The ammount of lobs westbrook sets him up with is ridiculous.

And yea actually faking a pass while standing would probably be even more useful than just doing it when driving (howd i miss that?) i also would like to have a custom shot maker, where you can create a ritual and a shot for shooting freethrows, and just design how you want your jumper to look. Also the create a player has to be much better, at least add a randomizer or something.

I have the most problems against big men…maybe cuz i use the bulls…although ive got an aged camby and chris bosh on my frontline. Big men score at will on me, they get rebounds whenever they want on me. My only defense is to deny them the ball and thats easier said then done. I like (by like i mean hate) when you play on the easier levels, when you want to switch players on defense the computer switches you accurately, but if you play on the harder levels the computer forces you to cycle through the players on the court (moving everyone a bit off thier defensive assignment causing guys to get loose and get through screens) and thus screwing up EVERYTHING!!!!! Or when the cpu makes your players double ben wallace for no god damn reason!!!! Its so annoying…

I’ve rested my Bulls franchise for the moment but I think we were about to upset a 4 seed to get to the 2nd round.
But anyways. Lebron yeah seems like he can do anything but then he just disappears in games it seems like. And he is right there for MVP almost every year but his team doesn’t do well for some reason.

Westbrook throwing lobs; I think they need to fix that. I can see him doing that 1 time in 3 games.

I know whenver I create a player he is either super skinny or he looks like he looks like he went to BALCO.

Ha ha I know thats horrible. Man so many times it looked like a good back door play but it was just me getting switched on the wrong guy. And sometimes in critical possessions. And of course you still have guys being able to shoot super quick. Thats how the Magic went up 2-0 on us.
Sometimes in the pick and roll I get that too and then the big man has a wide open lane. Or if they double someone like Wallace its like why…because sometimes it takes forever for them to double when I ask for it.

I’d be amazed if they put in a ritual option. But I hope they finally give us something with the create a player. I wouldn’t be surprised to go to anyone’s house and see the player looks exactly like mine.

agreed on all points

and i laughed at what you said about the cavs cuz how true it is. Even in my current season (im in year 2011-12 btw) I look at the cavs and they arent even in the playoffs yet, and yet lebron is in the running for mvp? The season before that the cavs were in the lottery. I have to check from time to time if lebron is even still on that team or injured or something….
