Around SBN: Bob Sapp Denies Throwing Fights

(On Derrick Rose) "Everybody has their night," said Kendrick Perkins. "I know it won't happen again. He'll never have another game like that against us."

"...there was a boisterous three-on-three game going on at one end. At the other basket, Joakim Noah was endlessly shooting jumpers."

"...in the third quarter, they made that run – we were up nine at the half--and I didn’t call timeouts, because, one, I think as a young team that’s a good learning tool for us."

I hope Perkwho's quote

get’s posted in the bulls locker room.

by gman2849 on Apr 19, 2009 9:13 PM CDT reply actions

Perkins? Phhht.

He is still waiting for his night. He’s one to talk. Maybe get a few rebounds and then come back with smack talk.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

Wow, I put up the same exact quote

That’s crazy, how did I not see that? Anyways, screw Perkins.

Does Kendrick realize it was mostly his fault Rose dominated?

Their help defense was complete garbage, it was basically Rondo going for a steal, Rose going past him and getting close shot after close shot.

That Steve Nash is exactly the same as Kirk Hinrich, but worse.

perkins is a douche.

can’t wait to see rose (hopefully) continue to dominate tomorrow in person. :D

Hmmm

I’d hope he’d posterize him but I think a lot of times whoever posterizes a player their team loses the series. Unless its a series clinching game.

Dear Derrick

Dunk on Kendrick Perkins. In Boston if you want to humiliate him, in Chicago if you prefer hearing "OH"s.

I think he'll hear oohhs

Even in Charlotte and Phoenix when he did his tomahawk the crowd couldn’t help it.

a dunk would be perfect

Did anyone see that shot Perikins threw up in the 4th?

I don’t think he even looked at the hoop and it went in. It was the ugliest lucky shot you can attempt.

going into Bulls playoff lock down..now!

by SoulEater7 on Apr 19, 2009 10:05 PM CDT reply actions

He shoots a lot of shots on the low block left that are basically blind

He knows where he is positioned and the shots are all really drawn from memory. They look awful, but that’s his game from that position.

12/31: Fire Vinny Del Negro.

by NBA Observer on Apr 20, 2009 10:19 AM CDT up reply actions

You are talking about the posession where TT blocked him, then the clock ran down...

I watched it again last night, the funny thing was that Rondo had to tell him to shoot it because Perkins was so phased he didn’t realize the shot clock never reset… Even after TT launched his stupid ass shot 15 feet in the other direction. Perkins is really not a smart player, and he got VERY lucky on that one.

Watching the replay last night again, there were a few more things that Perkins did that could have cost them that game, but it was very obvious that Ray Allen did more… And I still can’t believe Pierce missed that free throw. HA!

Ah I love this kid
"I know what I did in the game," he said. "I think about the days I didn’t have a good game. Would I still look at that? Would I still look at TV? So why would I look at it if I had a good game? If your routine is to look at ESPN and if you go on there seeing yourself having a bad game, no. That’s not me."

I actually can see what hes talking about

But in a different way I hate watching myself on camera or anything. But more importantly keeping a leveled head is something that he seems to know how to do.

by Camry on Apr 20, 2009 2:16 PM CDT up reply actions

At least now we know for a fact that Derrick feeds off this stuff

In his postgame he was talking about how no one said he would be ROY and that made him want to prove them wrong. I am so jacked to see what happens tomorrow.

I agree with Perkins

No more of these mediocre 36-point games. Derrick’s gonna score at least 40 points a game for the rest of the series!

by Rose MVP on Apr 20, 2009 12:51 AM CDT reply actions

Make Aaron do it

Aaron’s always the one who’s mugging people after Derrick does something awesome. Plus, he’s not useful as a basketball player.

Perkins:

Not a smart player.

Joakim Noah: Better than you.

by Prevenge on Apr 20, 2009 3:15 AM CDT reply actions

Here's to hoping Joakim launches zero 15 footers the rest of the series

VDN: “They’re giving you an open shot. Go! Learn quick! Grab a ball, go now!”

Joakim: befuddled, starts shooting sideways spinning jumpers

i'd rather have the 50 and a win

than 63 and the loss, though ;)

Well who in the fuck is going to stop him.....you? The only thing your slow ass can

do is TRY to put Rose on his ass when he drives and you may do it but Rose is so strong he may finish anyway or foul your ass out.

and IF you decide to try to harm any precious hair on Roses head then I am hoping that Brad Miller puts you on yours.

I smell a confrontation later tonight. Rose savors these moments. He loves the attention. If the Bulls can win tonight then I think it is over for Boston because all the bulls need to do is win two more and that can happen in Chicago or in Boston.

by Bart71 on Apr 20, 2009 9:52 AM CDT reply actions

Look out for goons

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Celtics hammer Rose on his first attack of the rim.

I just hope T2 or Noah doesn’t do something stupid in retaliation. Let Linton Johnson lower the boom (dude’s jacked!)

Plus, I guarantee there will be a “Perkins Sucks” chant on Thursday night.

I am a little bit afraid that they're going to take him down hard.

I’m just praying for a soft landing… and we dont really have anyone on our bench who can come in and be a bully, unless linton has a side to him we haven’t seen before.

as much as id like rose to do damage on perkins...

i think that noah having a career night over perkins fat ass will be more to my liking tonight.

speaking of fat ass, did anyone else see that when TT hit one of his many shots over Big Baby in OT...

joggin back down the court he clearly said to him with a straight face, “You’re fat. You’re a FAT ASS!”
