not trying to be pessimistic

but its unlikely that derrick is going to produce that much every game. I’m just saying guys like Salmons, Kirk need to help him out.

Salmons was taking more than his fair share of the offense.

Gordon wasn’t missing a lot. He just wasn’t taking a lot early on. I’d rather some of those shots went to Gordon.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

by cranscape on Apr 18, 2009 2:51 PM CDT up reply actions

Right. If Salmons groin is bothering him that much.

(And this is four straight games, no?), then he needs to not be allowed to shoot as much.

Fuck Vinny Del Negro.

by tyger1147 on Apr 18, 2009 2:53 PM CDT up reply actions

He was hitting shots

inside the ft area. Otherwise he didn’t have the lift and his shots release was slow enough the defender got a hand on it multiple times. I hope Vinny watches tape and realize how NOT to use Salmons in the next game.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

by cranscape on Apr 18, 2009 2:56 PM CDT up reply actions

Gordon was there in the 4th

Didn’t take a lot of shots until then. Miller and Salmons really hurt us down the stretch. We did have a good lead until that went sour. Coach left them in too long. Tyrus was on the bench. That was stupid.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

by Ozzie Montana on Apr 18, 2009 2:47 PM CDT up reply actions

Do you see Rondo

or the Celtics back court getting any better than they were today? Rose and Noah played out of their minds but it was within their talent level. I don’t see why they can’t both have good games again. If Gordon gets back on track they won’t need to be THAT good again for us to win. We had the game in hand until Miller was in too much. It didn’t have to be as close as it was today with less Miller and Salmons.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

by cranscape on Apr 18, 2009 2:49 PM CDT up reply actions

I can see Rondo consitently throwing a 22/7 on us

Because our defense is iffy. Pierce will be Pierce, and Allen likely won’t shoot 1 for 12 again. I’m tempering expectations, but I will gladly let the Bulls defy logic 3 more times.

Since it is a road win

Thats encouraging that they played that well. I think their more consistent at home so we’ll see.
I don’t expect them to bust out but I wouldn’t be surprised to see them have a game similiar to this. As long as we are playing up tempo.

by Camry on Apr 18, 2009 3:18 PM CDT up reply actions

No, but that's the thing.

Some guys played over their heads. Some played poorly. It all evened out I think.

maybe everyone has bad games and they’re embarrassed.

Maybe everyone happens to have a great game together and they destroy the Celtics.

Fuck Vinny Del Negro.

by tyger1147 on Apr 18, 2009 2:55 PM CDT up reply actions

Gordon showed up when he needed to

and Salmons was injured and needed a better coach to reign him in. Defensively Salmons did fine. Just too many shots for the type of injury he is working through. Miller…did not need to play that much. Tyrus could have played more in the second half and given us less Miller time. The game might not have gotten out of control if that had happened.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

by cranscape on Apr 18, 2009 2:47 PM CDT up reply actions

I think people should get excited

Or stop watching the games. Because from 2 months ago or 3 this was maybe the worst team in the league. (not record wise)
Now we’re in the playoffs and stole a game. All we could hope for was to make it a series already so its only looking good. Its a win win to me.

And sometimes, you have do get it twice!

But yeah, really good D today. Guys learning to deal with Rose’s difficulties. Some of it was Allen missed stuff he usually makes (as did Bulls’ guys), but they challenged much better.

I actually expected worse from the refs… Now wait ‘til next game. Not just the refs, but Boston’s “adjusting”.

Well, they didn't look good....

Really, there season IS over without Garnett. Maybe not this series, but sooner or later.

Imagine Rose doing what he did with KG out there.

Right, I get it Ozzie. The Bulls aren’t winning it all this year, and don’t consider the “season is over.” But with Boston it’s an entirely different expectation (or realistic hope) being the defending champs.

Don't believe Soul

Tyrus was very good. I love that he has ice-water for blood, making most all of his shots at the scene of his worst game. We needed more Tyrus and less Miller, actually. But Tyrus is getting pushed around for rebounds against this team, and that no doubt will continue.

It was just like I always dreamed with this team. Rose, Joakim and Tyrus lead the way.

Celtics fan here

Wow guys, what can I say other then, what a freaking great performance by your team, I would be pretty proud right now if I were a bulls fan, and pretty confident in Derricks Roses future….wow.

Gonna be a great series, asnd the most entertaining thing about the game was the rondo vs rose matchup…very exciting…rose deffinetly got the better of him today, but rondo played pretty well and its gonna be a matchup to follow in the future. rose is special, and gonna be a superstar, I knew this all along and thats why i wanted the 76ers

Im sad, but great game guys

Great game by Rose

I was really impressed by his demeanor and calmness. He played his best game of the season at the right time.

Don’t go to Celticsblog.com, the author is whining about the refs. I can’t believe it. I wanted to leave a comment, but I figured it was a typical Celtic fan impulse reaction to blame the refs.

I fear for the day Paul Allen is no longer the owner of the Blazers.

He needs to reproduce soon so we have an heir in succession.

The amount of calls/non-calls in a playoff game involving the defending champs is ludicrous. The refs really are the worst part of the game.
