Salmons in a slump?
With all the hype after last night's win over Detroit and Derrick Rose taking over the final quarter and becoming a leader, we seemed to have forgotten about Johnny Fish
He's been in a kinda of a slump lately. He shot 3-11 last night and 5-18 vs Charlotte.
It might have been his groin or just an off shooting night. Should we be worried about it affecting our chances in the playoffs?

No chance to beat a hobbled Magic or Celtics? Some fan you are…

I will believe
after they win the 4th game and the smelling salts kick in.

besides
my answer was to more dismiss the question as irrelevant than to crap on the Bulls. It’s two games and if Salmons is hurt he’s hurt. I’m not sure how it can be a ‘worry’.

It's a worry because it makes us a worse team
and, thus, gives us even less of a chance than we have. Is it that hard to see?
Because believe it or not, there is a remote chance of the Bulls winning a series. Whether you think so or not. Sometimes I really wonder why you even watch this team if it always sucks the life out of you like this.

can't be jewish
he’d never say something wasn’t a “worry”. ;)
"They should. They better. I'm Vinny Del Negro!"
come on Matt
you sound just like my brother with your pessimism, with the same name. coincidence?? i think not…
I never understood groin injuries
and how they affect the shooting. Ben will be a fresh case study tomorrow night.

you need to be able to jump to get the proper lift to shoot.
having a bum groin makes it harder to jump properly. got it?

LOL okay, if your general shooting form involves jumping
to get your shot up, your natural rhythm and mechanics will be thrown off by not being able to jump because your groin is screwed up. That’s more nuanced and accurate.
I do know that you were joking though, and Brad’s flat footed “jumpers” are pretty fun to watch. I don’t know how he does it – even from behind the arc he shoots like that. I mean, have you ever tried shooting like that? It’s really really awkward and hard to do.

The two-handed set shot
is Old-Old School,
Maybe we can?

Along with
underhanded free-throws, 1-and-1 and really short shorts. Miller is Jungle Jim Luscutoff reincarnated.
Or it could have to do with being defended by Gerald Wallace and Tayshaun Prince, no?

This is what I came to say
The Detroit game was definitely Tayshaun Prince, I mentioned several times in that thread how Tayshaun’s length and quickness were too much for Salmons. Salmons usually gets his points on iso plays or when the ball’s passed to him and he’s open. He wasn’t left open much, and his driving against Prince only resulted in awkward low percentage shots. Bulls should have ran plays to get Salmons open, but they’ve been spoiled by not having to do that all year.
I have no idea why he did badly in Charlotte, since i didn’t watch the game, but seeing how Wallace is another of the league’s top defenders at the SF position, that had to be a factor.
He'll be fine
It's tough to be around competitive situations . . . but I've been able to manage. I've been able to survive. (GOAT)
Johnny Fish?
Gotta go with Fishsticks.

hate to be the bearer of bad news...
but I told ya so
hope he gets better for the playoff :(

you were right
but I still think it was an odd premise to ask ‘should we be worried if it effects our chances’, because there was clearly little chance with him healthy and none without him healthy.

I guess what I meant was the chance to make it a 6 or 7 game series, instead of getting swept in 3 games

We'll play so bad the first three
that they’ll call the fourth as a favor to the NBA-watching public.

He says it won’t fully heal until the offseason, but it won’t be a problem.
