"If guys were smart and professional, they'd understand the guys we brought in can help us win," Del Negro said. "That's what it's about—winning. It might alter somebody's minutes or somebody's shots. But that's not being a pro. It's about winning at this level and doing your job every night.

this applies to you too, Vinny
I would rather have the AI of 2k9 coach this team than VDN

This guy is really starting to tick me off...
VDN has absolutely no clue. And now he is just being a jerk about it- firing back at Paxson through the media, taking no responsibility at all, and now throwing his players under the bus. I thought coaches are supposed to win before they can ever think about doing that. I am really hoping for the second straight year the Bulls miss the playoffs in the interest of the team’s future. VDN doesn’t deserve the respect of bringing the Bulls back into the playoffs. He needs to go this summer.
Just after turning on the TV, I saw Wade, Hoiberg, and some other guy....

I'm speechless...
His incompetence is really starting to destroy mt brain cells and the foundations of reason as we know it.
If we aren't careful, the leanness we now feel will be the starvation of those we serve.

Yeah
I disagree with the full blame being on the coach, his main job is to be a motivator and then position the talent to best succeed…..
But I also don’t understand why at this stage after 2 years of this crap, there isn’t much blame placed on the roster….
I don’t even know exactly where the issue is with the roster….I mean we need players because we suck, but where’s our biggest hole?
We have a very good and emerging talent PG, backed with a very good backup (overpaid for his role, but he’s good).
We have a premier scorer in BG at the SG, who now can be backed with a very solid Salmons and at times the 2 PG lineup with the “combo” esque but still a PG Kirk.
We have Lu-yawn and Salmons at SF, 2 very good SF’s, even if Deng is underperforming, he’s still not a bad player, just not playing up to his past performance consistently or salary….but Salmons is pretty damn good.
We have Tyrus who finally is performing and his good play is being completely lost in our team consistency. Tyrus still misses defensive rotations from time to time, and it’s annoying to see him fight with a Bulls player for a rebound still…..maybe he’s more a team problem than he seems. What I see is a very eager kid who tries hard, does more little things right than wrong (esp of late) gets a little wild at times, but has a great demeanor on the court of late and seems excited to play and help contribute.
We now finally have a nice C tandem with Miller and Noah….
I know it’s easy because of this talent to just blame the coaching, but come on the players deserve something. How they can live with a loss as bad as yesterday is amazing…..if MJ was here he’d be calling out this team.
that is a huge player rip
and i’m guessing its directed at Tyrus, Deng and BG. Just a guess though.
Frankly, I’m ready to see some of these guys go. Not one player on this team is as good as they think they are. We were worried about Amare’s attitude? We already have a bunch of less talented “amare’s” here.

I'd rather first
See a competent coach in here to see if he can whip the players into shape.
I’m hoping that we haven’t just now hit the point where we were last season with Skiles/Boylan when the team and coach each gave up on each other. That is not fun to watch basketball. Last night and other recent games since the trade make me believe that this team has quit.
I guess Vinny, with this comment, may be trying to summon some sort of energy from the players… I guess I have to give him credit for that. Afterall, he is Italian… and they shouldn’t get on his bad side!
"Remember, I'm Italian".
Why isn't Lindsey Hunter coach yet?
Confusion breeds success. If they don't know each other, opponents can't have strategy. GENIUS.
Ya know, I just heard this quote live on the post-game show...
they replayed the game on CSN this afternoon, and I have to say this quote was sort of taken out of context. He was asked if sometimes bringing new players in can create confusion and a lack of chemistry and lead to bad play at first and he said something like “No, i don’t think so. I don’t think that’s the case here. If guys were professional then that wouldn’t lead to bad play… blah blah blah.”
I don’t know if I explained it well enough, but it’s one of those things where he didn’t just come out and rant and it didn’t exactly sound like he was speaking of certain players, or even his players. Just saying that that suggested excuse was not an excuse for their bad play because they are professionals and professional ballers are too smart to let new players trip them up when winning is their ultimate goal.
Just felt like I should defend it… don’t really know why I’m bothering, but yeah.
I'm with you
I also believe it was KC with the question, basically gift-wrapping a chance for Vinny to use an excuse. But to VDN’s credit he didn’t.

i'm not with you
maybe he didn’t rant, but the wording he used was unnecessary. Why couldn’t he have said something like “I don’t think that’s the case here. Our guys are professional, they should understand the guys we brought in can help us win…”
Instead he said “if guys were smart and professional…”. Saying it that way implies that they aren’t. It’s more than just a grammatical mistake. It was dig.
http://awsomepeoplesearch.com/
but he wasn't talking about the bulls is the point...
and there was a much larger context around it. had i just listened to the interview and not read this solo quote, I wouldn’t have thought twice about this sentence. he was having a conversation and not making excuses. it was fine.
