Ok so I brought this up in one of the recent posts thinking it would turn into a FanPost, and I was right. Apologies Matt - but anyway this is my objective:
Books. I want to get a bunch of basketball books, and then I want to read them. My only problem is I don't know which books are good and which are not good. Think of it as like a reading list that one should have in order to understand the intricacies of the game that the casual fan doesn't bother to see/pursue.
I recently received a gift card to Amazon.com (thanks Aunt Patty!) and would like to spend the entire thing on books about basketball.
I’m not looking for biographies or stories about the Fab Five – I want good analysis about the trends, fundamentals, and general knowledge that any scout/coach would have while watching a game. I’ve looked on Amazon and Borders and so far, I haven’t found anything that seems to be what I’m looking for. Any help would be much appreciated.
Think Dean Oliver - his Basketball on Paper is my #1 so far.
Thanks!
