You have to dribble before taking a step.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

huh? he did dribble.

and he took 2 steps after he picked up the dribble. that’s allowed, isn’t it?

My bad.

Billips took too many steps in his drive. He could take two and together to shoot (which is like three). But he took three and together (which is four). He pretty much did a half circle around his defender without dribbling.

Gotta be kidding on the Kobe one

Most of those guys weren’t good shooters that year. Not to mention horrible decision makers.

Davis for shame

On the kobe one

look at the time, the game was ending….so…yea kobe should take the shot cuz he is the best closer in the game…

Yeah I think some people get carried away with some of the labels put on players

I remember the first time Kobe was without Shaq he was looking for his teammates and trusting them. That went no where and they were losing big he had to score in bunchs. (that year he got injured though)

by Camry on Mar 15, 2009 3:30 PM CDT up reply actions

It still was a stupid shot concidering how far out he was

and how many guys were on him and not on his teammates. If he was three steps closer to the basket I’d say go for it, but Kobe was way too far out and too defended. He kept the ball too long to pass it off but he didn’t gain a good position to shoot from for all of that ball handling he was doing. Not a smart shot if he had pre-decided he was going to take the last one. The defense did a great job of keeping him away from where he wanted to go.

But their down by 3

Though Odom had hit a tying three that I think that year or the year before where I remember Kobe passing it to him. But I think theres been plenty of players that have done it people try to magnify it in Kobes case. 5 seconds left with a hand in his face I think I’ve seen Kobe come through more than even Odom wide open.
Kobe basically had to score to have the team survive anyway. People could see that his team came up short in that series vs the Suns too while he was giving probably his best effort to trust his teammates.
Anyway I know Odom was at the top right there but we’ve seen Kobe nail that plenty of times.

Love the DWade one

Just a sample of what he gets gamely

seriously

and it also reminds of the time jefferson slipped on a wet spot and they called a foul (on who i don’t remember) on the guy who was nowhere near him.

Won him a championship

Still can’t believe that whole series. That might have been the worst officiating of a playoff series, much less the Finals, that I have ever seen in my life.

Watching the Sixer game last night

made me think the NBA is in serious decline. Where the refs should play a bigger role they go to sleep. To make up for it they end up whistling all kinds of awful plays.

Sometimes it’s not a foul. It’s just really pathetic basketball.

12/31: Fire Vinny Del Negro.

Yeah

thats the biggest disappointment for me. I don’t think that the flopping and slight contact should be in the game. It takes away from the game.

If someone gets fouled then they get fouled because they deserve a bucket for working hard and beating the defense. Now its not exactly the case.

This made my day

..on 2/18/09, Noc was gone..and on the next day, Larry "The Chucker" was just a bad dream...

i hate bowen

and that pretty much exemplifies why… not the first time he kicked a dude in the face.

Yeah even Brent Barry admitted hes dirty

I kind of hate that some say he isn’t “at all” because he pretty much set the standard for dirty play for a good number of years.

That last shot of Harris has a HUGE caveat:

he was in England at the time, and they told him that a guy with mental retardation wanted to 1v1 him. Being the cool guy that he is, he accepted. What do you think he honestly had going on in his head right before the match? I’m going to show this retard not to mess with the Harris?

Needless to say, though, he was surprised.

by NittanyCub on Mar 16, 2009 10:31 AM CDT reply actions

Yeah I remember that too

Everyone wants to forget that part though and almost no one reported on it. I think they threw it in on a blog somewhere.
“….oh yeah and someone told Devin the guy was mentally unstable before the game”
