This and Norm.
…
Well …
this sucks.
Not sure what else to say. :/
"You remember the first time you picked up a basketball video game and you had no idea how to run plays, so you just gave the ball to your shooter and you ran around the court aimlessly until a defender was far enough away and then you jacked up a shot? THAT IS LARRY HUGHES!"

Put Red in the Hall of Fame
Maybe we can?

Aren't MJ and Red both in the running this year?
If they both got in, that would be awesome. Kerr was the biggest MJ fan ever.

Too much for one day.
It’s going to be odd never seeing Norm or Kerr again.

This has been a very terrible day.
I’m glad Red got his day earlier this year.
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

They've both been a part of the Bulls franchise...
In some capacity for so long, through the good years and bad. Great personalities and great loyalty to the Chicago Bulls. They will be sorely missed.

What a terrible coincidence
Well, at least Norm will have someone to groan with up there during Bulls games.

I figured he wasn't doing well when they moved up the date of his ceremony . . .
But wow, in retrospect they must have known he didn’t have long. I mean, Jesus, it’s only been two weeks since the ceremony. I’m glad he was there to see it.

just a thought...
how about a moment of silence from all blogging here on BAB for Red and norm until the game tonight?… obviously hard to do on a blog…but just a thought…

I really like that
Like you said, I don’t know how possible it is, but I think that’s a great idea!

I think it's possible, and worth the attempt.
We’ll put it at the top of the game thread….big caps with the EST minute or so…very nice idea, Masputo.

More than most players
these guys (both Norm and Johnny) were a huge part of all my Bulls memories. I’m not a very emotional person when it comes to things like this. I would never have thought this would bother me so much, but it really has. I feel like I know these guys. Thanks for the memories, you both will be missed dearly.

Going to go crazy at the video historical montage before Saturday's game
I hope the fans at the UC give both men a great ovation as the Bulls run their historical montage during the game. Both men embodied the best of what it means to be a Bulls fan and will be missed.

What a strange and sad two days.
Norm and Red. Two passionate, good guys.

This makes a
sad day even sadder. I’m glad Johnny got to have his ceremony while he could still attend.
The guys will certainly be playing with heavy hearts tonight.

Been a very tough end of a week.
I’ve grown up on Johnny Red and Stormin’.
I’ve been tearin up on the CSN tributes.
RIP Buddies. Now Heaven has 2 great Bulls Analysts to break the games down from up above.

I woke up this morning with another email from MyBulls...
…thinking “oh they sent out another email about Norm’s passing”. But then when I looked closer I realized it was about Red.
I’m in shock right now.
These have been a very sad last couple of days. These guys were Bulls basketball to me. They will be missed.

I was downtown for my B-day eating at Frontera Grill.
Driving to the city in the rain and listen to WGN radio, I thought Dave Kaplin did a great segment honoring Norm’s life. Some great stories about how he would always bring Carson’s Ribs in for everyone or just people calling in to tell their stories.
By the time we left the restaurant I caught the Red Kerr passing. I thought they got it wrong for a second but I just couldn’t believe they both died on my birthday let alone they died.
There are two types of basketball fans. Those who use stats to fight all their arguments and those who actually watch basketball.

Fucking Bullshit
pardon my french, but this is crazy - both guys on the same day? What a heavy heart in Chicago right now. - players and coaches come and go, but Red Kerr was ALWAYS there, every night. RIP
My own father passed away on the same day from cancer four years ago…. really hits home. Johnny Kerr was always the Bulls to me -

this is a real blow.
i grew up on those guys, damnit.
Sober, I was appalled at the women. Drunk I was told I danced with them all.

I first started watching the Bulls on 32 WFLD
with Red and Jim Durham doing the broadcasts.
To me, Red will always be THE Bulls broadcaster.
Maybe we can?
