Tribute to Stormin' Norman' and Slap to the Face to the Bulls Organization
Let me first say that if it were not for Norm Van Lier, I would think that basketball is a wimpy sport. Norm told me what the Bulls have been doing wrong for these last ten years. Most of the time he just pointed to his heart. Too bad the Bulls didn't listen.
For all these years that the Bulls have been terrible disappointing fans year in and year out, we all found solace in Norm Van Lier who would speak the truth about the Bulls and express the feelings that we shared. The players, the coaches, and certainly the management seem to not have cared about winning for a long time. Norm was the one guy associated with the Bulls who did. Now he is gone, and who do we have? The Bulls had plenty of opportunities to honor Stormin' Normin'. They did not have to retire his number. But Norm always seemed to be left out. The latest example is the Johnny Red Kerr ceremony. Even when the Bulls switched from FSN to CSN, he was left out of the post-game crew initially. There was no appreciation for this man. He played harder than any of the guys currently on the team. Of course no one expected this, but the Bulls should be embarrassed for never showing any appreciation for him. But I personally don't know how much more the Bulls can be embarrassed.

Great video
That CSN postgame show sucks with Kendall Gill. He is the dumbest “analyst” I have ever heard. One time he was asked how Allen Iverson played against the Bulls and he said, “He went everywhere that he went.” No joke, that is an exact quote. Mark and Kendall would always be laughing off Norm’s statements. Man I miss the good old FSN days.
CSN better not bring in another cookie for the post game show.

They should retire number 2.
Nobody wore it better.
There are two types of basketball fans. Those who use stats to fight all their arguments and those who actually watch basketball.
I think it should have been done already.
"We only had 8 guys… well really 7, I don’t count Lindsay..."
yea its ridiculous that they havent
retired #2 yet…. while guys like eddy curry, thabo, and now tim thomas used it. they have got to put that up. how is not up there already???? it almost seems like an insult to do it now, but it must be done nevertheless
Chicago... Where giving up career nights happens

Why is that? Explain please?
well not to speak for the original writer
but I’m guessing it’s along the lines of how Norm always talked about how physical he was in protecting his teammates back in the day. Now if you see a point guard get breathed on, there’s a foul called.
I would rather have the AI of 2k9 coach this team than VDN

The problem is that the writer is a 19 yr old college kid.
He ranted on Jordan wearing Jeans at Red’s ceremony, then said he was a freshmen in college and hadn’t really been old enough to watch the Jordan era. So how did he watch the Stormin’ era? Annoying.
