Not much new other than that Rose uses the Lakers when playing NBA 2K9

He may never be a defender like Gary Payton, most stars are not. Lebron is just now improving his ...

defense and it took years for him to get to that point. I think down the road DR defense will improve, but he may never be a great defender, some are.

Some of the great point guards of the past were not good defenders, even Steve Nash who is a two time league MVP was terrible on defense, but he still was the MVP of the NBA.

Defense for STARS is overrated. Defense is played more by role players. Of course you have Jordan and Kobe who are supreme on both sides of the ball, but they are exceptional.

Yeah at least we can see Rose has potential on defense

I wonder how many players came into the NBA considered great defender then later not so much.

You'd think that with

his athleticism he could add a some defensive fundamentals to his game and stay in the average to good range for most of his career (until he slows down some in his 30s). If he wasn’t athletic he would probably be worse off, but he has that part. He just needs to shift some of that determination he has over to the defensive side of things. Stars might not always be the best defensively, but they do know how to tighten things up down the stretch. Rose should become like that too.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.
