(Updated) 18-9:WE DON'T HAVE A COACH
Post is updated.
As i looked at the remaining 27 games of the bulls, i think at best we could be 18 and 9. Meeting multiple times with Charlotte, Toronto, New York, New Jersey, Indiana, and Washington, will only help us on our, hopefully Surge to the Playoffs. It would hopefully mean 43 wins for us. And possibly a 1st round Matchup against Boston or Cleveland or Orlando.
VDN is not there. The bulls are better of without a coach. How about tim thomassing vdn and slide him in the inactive list. Seriously, if you ever heard him on the "sounds of the game" or read his quotes, all he can say is run run run, good job, i dont care if you miss as long as it's a good shot, i'll take it all day. Fuck, we got a cheerleader there, we don't have a coach. Has he even tought the players moves, or plays that they can run in specific situations, NO!!! He has pick and roll all day, that's why we are somewhat of predictable. He doesnt know what he is doing out there, he is a coach that just looks like a coach. He is just clueless, and his geriatric assistants could care less. Fuck them. Bet Samuel L. Jackson is even better than VDN.

Break it down...who are the 9 we lose to?
by Bart71 on Feb 21, 2009 7:47 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Theres 5 that we go in as big underdogs
The others I think is just a toss up though. Like Miami-Philly maybe Detroit.
But I won’t be surprised if we do better than that even….but I won’t be if we give up some at the same time.

We'll win 1 maybe 2 of those big underdog games and everyone will get excited....
Then get crushed by Washington twice, Indy at least once, and lose to the hated Knicks…..

Wow, those 12 games after the Lakers are crazy.
They obviously aren’t like to win all 12, but they could be favored in all of them, and a 9-3 record going into the playoffs isn’t that unreal.

Every time I start to belive that VDN has turned the corner as a coach,
he reverts to Vinny the Ninny. I mean, does Kirk have compromising pictures of the guy or what?
Maybe we can?

It's really just that he had no other choice w/ Gooden out.

Vinny was probably looking down the bench for Noc
during the 4th quarter. :(
Maybe we can?

Typical Bulls fans
Have to talk to themselves….
It’s the only way we can cope with a horrid 4th quarter yesterday…

If they keep the chemistry of the last month going...
any of those are wins minus the Lakers, Boston, and splits on the remaining Orlando and Miami games. For the better teams it often depends on injuries our opponents have and in general how well our new players mesh with the rest of the team.
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

if we can get the new guys situated sooner rather than later, and they continue playing like they are..
i really think we’re looking at a 4th or 5th seed….

Teams to be worried about
Miami, Philly, and Atlanta. Detroit is collapsing through the standings, Milwaukee has gotten some horrendous bad luck, and New Jersey hasn’t been consistent at all to be a threat. They could definitely pull off a 2006 run where they just caught fire in the last few weeks and got the 7th seed. It’s not the best scenario, but this team can’t afford another lottery season.

Oh, and this stretch is going to be ridiculous
At Miami, at Orlando, at Philly, vs Hornets, vs Celtics, at Thunder, vs Lakers.

Why does everyone think it'll be so hard for us to squeeze into the playoffs?
Barring injury, I’d say we’re a shoe-in. The Bucks don’t have Redd or Bogut for awhile, the Pistons are 6-15 in their last 21 games and below .500 overall since trading Billups, Philadelphia lost Brand for the year and don’t have a better team than the Bulls, and while the Bulls improved on deadline day, the Knicks added Larry Hughes and the Nets did nothing.
Forget squeezing in and facing Boston/Cleveland, we’ve got a very realistic shot at playing Orlando/Atlanta and knocking one of them out.

if we get the Hawks (i.e. we snatch the 5th seed), I can see us taking them out. I don't know
if we could hang with the Magic. Dwight Howard is just such a beast.

I Concur...
… I would think all the Bulls have to do is go .500 the rest of the season and we will get the 8th seed. The way the Pistons are playing we may even jump to the 7th spot.

we can lose to ANY of those teams. Vinny will find a way.

i might slide the houston
game into the “maybe” column… we have a real center now to help with yao, and no mcgrady to boot. we played them pretty well last time and we’re at home this time.

All the games are in the maybe column.
"You remember the first time you picked up a basketball video game and you had no idea how to run plays, so you just gave the ball to your shooter and you ran around the court aimlessly until a defender was far enough away and then you jacked up a shot? THAT IS LARRY HUGHES!"

read the "projected" column, and get back to me.
there’s “maybe” winable" (spelled wrong) and “nope.” houston is under the nope category by the author.

I think he meant that as a joke
as in every game is a toss-up with this team. We beat two high-seeds in the past week, but lost to a Pacers team led by Troy Murphy in between.
by YaoPau on Feb 25, 2009 4:21 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
fair enough
i don’t have much of a sense of humor that early in the morning.

I didn't mean it as a joke, but I did mean that every game's a toss-up.
Seriously, after we lose to the Nets and beat the Magic, how are we going to legitimately say we know what the Bulls are going to do at ANY TIME?

Optimism is great!
I just took a glance at the standings for the first time in a couple of days, and it is looking good! We’re only 2 games behind Phily and they’re the 6 seed! If we could avoid Boston or Cleveland in the first round (dare I say it!) we could actually advance to the second round of the playoffs! Orlando would be tough, but not impossible to beat with Nelson out. All the other teams in the playoffs have faults.
Maybe I will renew my season tickets afterall!

Reinsdorf wins again.
Thank God I live in another city or I would be tempted to buy season tickets too.

Very true
You know, it is warm outside, the sun is out in Chicago and I’m feeling good after going to that Orlando game last night…. The jeers when Howard missed the free through were great! Oh how I’d love to watch that game again in April or May!
Oh, and don’t forget AIR-MILLER! What a great steal… not the most gracefull guy in the world though!

DAMN VDN
Thanks for ruining my optimism by managing the team to another loss against a sub-par team. I HATE you Vinny!!!!

Haha..
Much like the weather in Chicago, the optomism for the Bulls can turn even quicker.
