Rose In Skills Challenge

Just saw the news on NBA.com.

Derrick Rose will meet Devin Harris, Tony Parker and Jameer Nelson.

Turns out our earlier fears on whether Rose would skip the Skills Challenge was unfounded.

I'm looking forward to Rose v Harris, I've been saying to everyone who would listen to me that those 2 were gonna be All NBA guards one day.

This is probably the only reason I'd watch the broadcast on Saturday.

I think its just a way of saying

young players in the nba play basketball. So i guess you could read it like this

The Rookie Challenge and The Young Players in the NBA Play Basketball…..which is just another way to specify that this is a game between the rookies, and the youngest class of veterans in the nba…the sophmore class…….i think thats what it is, and in that case….its stupid….just call it the rookie vs sophmore game……

I wish

Noah were in it. His PER was good last year as was his play down the stretch and his recent play is pretty good (though I guess he wasn’t very good early this year)…

the point shootout

is gordon gonna be in it this year? I dont understand why he isnt.

by Sambossanova on Feb 2, 2009 8:47 PM CST reply actions

Ahhh, but he has the 5th most 3pts made...

…and is tied for 2nd with ray allen in 3pt% of those w/ more than 100 3pt made.

It should be Rashard Lewis, Ben Gordon, Danny Granger, Rudy Fernandez, Jamal Crawford and maybe Matt Bonner just for fun.

Why Crawforf?

Morrow should be in instead of the former Bull.

by dakoose on Feb 2, 2009 11:13 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah, Crawford was a bad idea.

Morrow has no name power at all, and that’s what these things are for. I want names, lasting talent, winning teams or funny/fluky ones like Bonner. Maybe Roger Mason or Troy Murphy.

I just want new names (although Lewis should get an invite, I think) but not all rookies. High percentages, lots of makes.

To each his own, though.

Gordon should be part of both Shooting Stars and Three Point Shootout

But I fear, Kirk Hinrich will be our representative for shooting stars if Gordon is in the three point shootout. That would be scary.

But...

If they didn’t go to instant replay, Bulls would have won.

Ben Gordon tried to cheat, just like the Patriots. And I’d blame the WNBA player for her fumbling act, more than Gordon’s quick trigger hand.

Ben Gordon to allstar Game?

Jameer Nelson might be out for the allstar game now after injuring his shoulder last night.

Gordon could potentially replace him. Ray Allen, Mo Williams, and Vnce Carter would also have to be considered.

Ray Allen and Mo Williams are way more credible to the coaches/voters

Or whoever the hell picks the replacements.

The Commish picks the other guy

So I’d say Boston Three Party again…

No way Ray Allen would lose out to Mo

Ben is my man 100 grand

but no way Stern picks him over Rondo, Allen, Williams, or Carter. Stern doesn’t like the Bulls that much.

Nor does he deserve to be an All-Star

Over Mo Williams or Ray Allen.

Sure he does!

Wooo fanboyism!

"You remember the first time you picked up a basketball video game and you had no idea how to run plays, so you just gave the ball to your shooter and you ran around the court aimlessly until a defender was far enough away and then you jacked up a shot? THAT IS LARRY HUGHES!"

haha that should be fun to watch

Wade can start off with running full steam into a body of players, and somehow force up a shot that goes in.

And Gordon can dribble off his leg, trip, and still hit a 3 pointer.

KG vs Dirk hmmm

I’d go with guards for trick shots. Chris Paul vs Steve Nash, or Allen Iverson.
