Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

Mike McGraw. A potential $100 million question is staring the Bulls in the horns, and an answer is due no later than Thursday.

Should they acquire all-star power forward Amare Stoudemire from the Phoenix Suns? The proposed deal would most likely send Tyrus Thomas, Drew Gooden, Thabo Sefolosha, Cedric Simmons and undetermined draft picks to Phoenix.

Chris Broussard

on ESPN earlier today said that it’s “60/40” that Amare would stay…so it’s being reported as both I guess

If Amare didn't want to come to the Bulls

the best thing to do was say he wanted to get paid eventually. Reinsdorf doesn’t like that!

So this is about the Bulls passing....

not Phoenix? I know that’s just McGraw theorizing, but is that really where we’re at? Seemed like Phoenix was the one making the decision.

if the trade is really in the bulls hands and they won't pull the trigger

than I am done with Paxson and Reinsdorf. The trade as presently constituted has the Bulls losing one quality player (TT) for a player who plays his position far better than him. This is the closest to a complete winning trade as the Bulls will ever get. Almost 1 month ago, everyone was done with TT. Now they won’t trade him for a first team all nba player? What portion of bizarro world have I woken up on? And the chicago media will be their to lap it up. As if the Bulls are going to win a championship without paying at least one guy 20 million a year.

The Bulls probably won’t grab Amare, lose Gordon for nothing, hold on to Hughes and Nocioni and did prod Othella Harrington out of retirement to start at the 5. This is beyond stupidity by the Bulls – if true.

from all indications it's on the Suns side.

well that makes the most sense

I don’t see how trading Amare really accomplishes anything for the Suns, except short term cash relief. Trading Shaq or even Nash makes far more sense. I will reserve my anger for when Amar’e is traded for Varejao, Wally, Hickson and a first round pick. If Amar’e isn’t trade, well, nothing Bulls could do.

But Pax still needs to clear out Noc and Hughes at the least. This roster is still incomplete despite the recent decent play.

I read on a blog that PHX did not want Amare to play another game

if this is true then PHX is due to play the clippers tomorrow. Tuesday will be an interesting day.

20 mill

My problem with Amare trade is the fact that he wants a max contract but he doesn’t justify one. Look at Arenas. You have to be careful of how you give out huge contracts cause it limits the moves you can make for the next 5-6 years sometimes.

To me, Amare isn’t worth 20 mill…he’s not a franchise player at all. Only franchise players should get that salary. With Stoudamire and Rose, we have a playoff team that can get to the second round, not a true championship contender.

So basically we know JR won’t pay Amare 20 mil…no way in hell, he’s super cheap …so basically we are trading for a player to be with us for a year and a half. Knowing he will leave….what’s the point….
