He's a scorer
That’s it. There aren’t a lot of them. We need one. Derrick Rose needs one. Tyrus Thomas isn’t a score, though he’s extremely talented. They aren’t going to give us Amare for nothing. Would it be interesting to trade lesser athletes for him, like Deng and Hinrich (via Portland perhaps) for him, yes, it might be. But we can’t afford to pass up on a rare scorer in a slot we need.
I also was interested in what Bill Simmons wrote this week in his trade value column about Gasol, that he was better than he thought.
It’s not the case that stars in their prime get worse when they leave their first teams. Gasol, KG….they got better, or at least fit well on great teams.
So he is Eddy Curry
without the appetite and a much bigger paycheck? LOL

Right now BG is our only consistant scorer and Rose needs someone to feed the ball to down low. There were numerous times last night when Thomas or Noah fucked up the entry passes set up for them. Amare can fix that. Lets go get him.
