Isola had the odd report: He said that his sources "inside the Knicks organization" have told him that they believe Amare has already been traded to an Eastern Conference team, but that it won't be announced until after the Allstar game so as not to mess things up with him being voted in as a West starter. His sources with the Knicks told him they believe the trade was with Miami or Chicago.
Sam Smith: He refutes Isola's sources and says that no trade has occurred. He went through a bunch of stuff about why the Bulls should or shouldn't do the trade. Here is his unique addition: He said the Suns have informed the Bulls that they have "a better offer from another Eastern Conference team" than what the Bulls are offering, but Sam doesn't know who the team is or what the offer is. He speculated this could be nothing more than a bargaining ploy.
Other Bulls Stuff: Smith said that regardless of what happens with Amare, the Bulls "will make a trade this month." He than said that he's certain that Hughes is on the move and that it is "very likely" that Nocioni will be traded as well. He was not stating these things as speculation.
Amare stuff is kinda bizarre. Other stuff sounds spectacular!

If a trade had been agreed upon, why would the team acquiring him allow the Suns to play him in any more games?
We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.

Perhaps the deal was contingent upon waiting past the break
I think that’s understandable. All-star games don’t come around often, and the last thing Suns marketing dept needs is for a recent “your fans are pissed you just dealt your superstar” story to overshadow the rest of the weekend.
Their fans might not be pissed though
A lot of thier fans might actually be happy to be rid of him.
Why resort to name calling?

I can't imagine the Suns fanbase
is on board with scrapping the entire team then build around your 35 year old point guard idea, especially when they were oh so close a couple years back. You could be right though, I don’t know for sure either way.
if Nocioni and Hughes are both gone, the trading deadline has been a success. Amare or no Amare.

And IF Noch and Hughes are gone and we have Amare
This trade is as great as getting pick number 1 last lottery.
And if Noch and Hughes are gone and we have Amare and Have the Cap Space to sign Ben Gordon then this trade is as great as Jordon hitting that shot in utah a decade or so ago
And if Noch and Hughes are gone, we have Amare and the cap space to sign bg, and it is no longer imperetive to get rid of kirk hinrich….ill believe im dreaming.
:)
On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!
Fakest thing i've ever heard
These types of things just don’t happen in the NBA
Assume Amare Stoudemire isn't available and there is no talk of him.
Assume the Bulls are playing the same as now. Assume the rest of this FanShot is true (Hughes and Nocioni likely gone).
How the heck excited are you right now? Seriously.
Viva la nuance! Reading comprehension rules!!!
At this point who cares if Hughes is gone?
I don’t understand why people want that so bad still. The guy is not even dressing for games. The only reason he needed to go earlier in the year was because of the fear that he would be taking minutes from better players. On the other hand, the news about Noc is a definite positive.

I believe he is only quiet right now
because he expects to be traded….if he doesnt get traded he could easily become a distraction……i think he might be that kind of player too. And if he talks the media will definetly listen….

Thats why you send him home
Like the Knicks did with Steph
Exactly, what the hell can he do about it?
If he makes noise you send him home

well since Pax seems willing to do that
you can (probably) assume or at least imagine that he is taking that into consideration when trading him for something?

We can all guess where Hughes is headed...
but the Nocioni thing has me stumped…Toronto? Really?

Guessing
I know we have discussed potential destinations for Noce before, but I still cannot find a home for him.
Toronto?
Portland?
Heck, as long as it involves a shorter contract,
I’m all for it.

Could Noce contract be added to trade exception?
Im not quite sure the rules. The CBA would allow Noce + 5.2 trade exception for 1 player at 13 mil? If this is true, this might open a new window on where to move Noce. A team that wants to stay competive but save some $. Like a JRich for Noce in a seperate deal. Im not saying the Suns would go for this in a seperate trade, but for arguements sake.Im Not saying the SUns would go for this, but this might be another avenue on where Noce is going.
It doesn't quite work like that. The TPE can only be used to take back a single player
and that player’s salary must be less than or equal to the size of the trade exception. So the TPE can not be combined with Noc’s salary.

Thank you.
Didn’t think so, but thank you. The trade exception would give a lot of flexibility if it could be used like that. How do you think the trade exception is going to be used? Where is Noce’s final destination?
Lakers?
For Ariza or Vujacic? Hmmm…maybe a bit unlikely.
GS Warriors for Randolph?
