Around SBN: Troubled Yankees Join Troubled Red Sox In Last Place

The quest to trade Larry Hughes continues and the most promising destination still appears to be Washington for forward Etan Thomas and guard Mike James.
Thomas is injured, but that hardly matters. James, a 6-4 scoring guard, might be a personality risk. He's played on eight teams in the past six seasons. If that wasn't enough of a red flag, his family appeared on a recent episode of "Supernanny." Let's just say if James takes coaching advice in basketball as well as he took parenting advice from Supernanny, the Bulls would be in for some headaches.

haha he was on Supernanny! Did anyone catch that?

But I would do this trade as long as it doesn’t effect the Stoudemire trade in any way. James contract is up at the end of this year and Thomas runs for another 1.5. If Thomas comes back healthy he can be a big body off the bench.

I'd do this

It allows a trade of Kirk either in the Amare deal or in another separate deal

This would be ideal.

Turning Larry into an expiring deal and a defensive big man? I never expected to get as much.

James has a player option next year

Better than putting Etan Thomas and Brendan Haywood in the same locker room

A lot of punches were thrown between those two.

salary guru sham on the realgm board:
Problem with this deal, though, is that it doesn’t actually save any money. James and Thomas earn more than Hughes both this year and next, and Etan has a trade kicker that makes it worse. It’s not a huge amount more, but we have very little room to play with, and this takes even more of it away for no significant players.

"But from what I'm hearing this deal isn't likely."
