Unleash the hounds of hell Matt!

RECAP THIS MOTHER FUCKER! Our NBA team has been hijacked by yes men for Jerry Riensdorf’s vinegar reeking ass!

Sad

I grew up in Jersey across the river from philly in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’,s. Bad teams, but nothing like this. This is really sad. There is no immediate fix. The whole organization sucks. Who would want to coach or be asociated with this mess.

by Banker on Dec 9, 2009 9:16 PM CST reply actions

Or just let Pippen take a crack at it...

At least it would be entertaining.

The only thing offensive on our team is the coaching.

by Khalid El-Amin on Dec 9, 2009 9:22 PM CST up reply actions

I think Dennis Rodman could use the money.

Rodman would be epic fun...

But Pippen actually wants to get into coaching, I was kinda serious.

This season has made me respect Jordan's ability even more

He became the best player ever despite being surrounded by this crap. Unreal.

Phil Jackson...

World of difference.

I think he means this crappy ownership.

Unfortunately the Bulls have to start Salmons...

They need him to have a good year so he’ll opt out.

The only thing offensive on our team is the coaching.

by Khalid El-Amin on Dec 9, 2009 9:34 PM CST up reply actions

Or maybe Jerry's plan is

to get the Bulls ridiculed so much that nobody in their right mind would opt in for another year. He’s a step ahead of us all.

by YaoPau on Dec 9, 2009 9:44 PM CST up reply actions

I've always wondered what it would be like for my team to have an owner as bad as Donald Sterling or Al Davis...

for some reason I was oblivious to the fact that Reinsdorf was just as bad. I feel like a battered wife.

I've been thinking about that

but I bet it’s going to both of them or neither of them. As in, if Noah goes, then Rose’s right behind him.

I don't know

but the Bulls should take a shot at getting a Jeff Van Gundy or even (as much as I hate his damn voice) an Avery Johnson…

I am now watching Steven Seagal Lawman. This vrap is better than the bulls. It looks real, but your at least you know that its fake. The Bulls, this is a team that has quit not only on the coach, but the whole system. Don’t feel sorry for Vinnie. He is still going to get a fat check to go away. 3 years from now he will be doing it someplace else for another fat check.

Besides Rose and Noah.

St.Joes looks better than them right now.

by T.Moore on Dec 9, 2009 9:38 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah

At least Rose had that nasty reverse layup in the first half….

Yay!!! I’m so fucking brainwashed by this team that I can say one good thing out of a game that should never be discussed.

How many games this year have we been down by more than 25 pts? What’s our biggest comeback win, if any this year?

I saw signs of us being lottery bound before the bottom completely fell (I think game 6-8) but hell we might get the #1 pick the way we’re going….

I knew this was going to happen…..I knew it would happen. I knew they’d lose last night—thought they’d get killed, surprising it was close, I didn’t watch and wasn’t gonna watch—but I did watch today….damn me and damn them.

I feel bad for Joakim more than anyone else really (I mean Rose is a superstar in the making and will be thought that way, but Noah just wants to play and win, and can’t….

I know he’s a millionaire, whatever, he is working his butt off for this..

Sadly....through thick and thin....

by majoyenrac on Dec 9, 2009 9:59 PM CST up reply actions

I feel bad for Noah too

if it wasn’t for this blog, I might go insane. I would think that I was the only one who could really “see” this organization for what it is. Most people just think the Bulls stink or don’t even realize they’re that bad; they recite the Sam Smith and Kendal Gill lines, you know?

There's no reason to keep watching even if he doesn't stay. This team's talent is pathetic.

It’s all on Jerry for refusing to pay for the Bulls to keep making steps up and making progress and overvaluing Kurt and the other crummy players he overvalued that left us saddled with crummy players (Noc —> Salmons, etc.)

This team sucks and I hate myself for supporting them.

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

by fundamentallysound on Dec 9, 2009 9:52 PM CST up reply actions

I've been saying this a lot

but doesn’t it feel like we’re in an abusive relationship? I mean, we know it’s a bad relationship, yet we can’t break it off. It’s consistently damaging us emotionally and there’s no signs that (he) will ever change or even has a desire to. (He) just wants to use us up for his own gain without regard for our feelings.

And then when Deng gives a free five second time out to Jarrett Jack, we’re at work the next day talking to our friends from Milwaulkee like, “yeah, I don’t know what happened on that play, I um, like fell down the stairs. You know, no big deal… just missed the play.”

It's like watching a 50-car pileup on the Dan Ryan!

Can anyone think of a logical reason to keep watching if Vinny stays?

We miss you, Ben Gordon!

by Granny Waiters on Dec 9, 2009 9:56 PM CST up reply actions

I don't pin this on Vinny...

Look at this crappy roster of players he has been given…there are maybe six NBA players out of 13…and two are injured…and they are playing two rookies who essentially play the same position on the court together…

oh, and they have not had an All-Star since the late 90’s…it is all on management this time.

Thomas, Miller, Salmons, James, Pargo, Gray, MLE, and LLE will not be here with a Max Free Agent...don't get too attached.

by Dionysus2.0 on Dec 9, 2009 10:28 PM CST up reply actions

Did you actually watch the game?

Not to say that management didn’t do an amazingly horrible job of putting together this roster. That is not an excuse though for the lack of leadership and actual coaching ability that is missing from our head coach. The entire team needs and deserves more than VDN is capable of bring to the party.

by idel212 on Dec 9, 2009 10:33 PM CST up reply actions

It is also becoming blatantly obvious

that the team has tuned him out and quit on him…We have a six game home stand coming up and Byron Scott has a lot of finger twiddling time at the moment….

by idel212 on Dec 9, 2009 10:37 PM CST up reply actions

Probably. Also it was a cliche that D'Antoni "couldn't coach defense" but look at VDN

A few weeks into last year, it was basically revealed that they simply stopped trying to implement Vinny’s defense because it was “too complicated”.

After watching the defense they’ve implemented, I think it’s still “too complicated” because it’s a bunch of nonsense.

miller looked horrible - did absolutely nothing out there

noah worked hard – but looked a step slow with the ball in his hands tonight

deng – a couple nice jumpers – but very passive on offense

hinrich – went 0-fer – was at game and every bulls fan around me groaned whenever he touched the ball – looking at jamal crawford tonight – you think that guy was born to score the basketball – and kirk was on the oppisite side of the spectrum – you just knew he would miss it upon release

rose – a bright spot – drove into the lane and took a lot of floaters which actually looked more high % than the midrange jumpers he sometimes takes – a little frustrating how often he gets his pocket picked on fastbreaks – twice in last two games

james johnson – can’t like the way he carries himself on the court – looks aloof and lazy – liked his foul he gave crawford albeit it was after getting his pocket picked by him

taj – he was fine – have to say he gets called for an inordinate amount of illegal defenses tho didn’t tonight – he was just fine

salmons – fine – had a couple “signature” possessions where he dribbled for fifteen seconds than turned it over, took a bad shot, or got called for palming the ball – gets blocked more than anyone in the league i swear (including getting blocked on a fastbreak by a 6-ft point guard tonight) – played fine though

We want Rose to be more aggressive and score more and Hollinger says...

In other words, they don’t trust each other. Partly this is because Rose is still more scorer than passer at this point, and if he doesn’t start editing the Steve Francis tendencies out of his game, he’s going to have a disappointing career. Another cause is that the Bulls still run everything through Rose even though he’s not been any more productive than several of his teammates.

DOES HE WATCH THE SAME BULLS GAMES WE WATCH?

by Playboy_Bull on Dec 9, 2009 10:47 PM CST reply actions

He doesn't

the Bulls don’t run everything through Rose and his passing has been fine. Hollinger is a big numbers guy, and the numbers show Rose has played poorly. His tendency is to create a narrative to fit those numbers.

Its impossible to imagine the Bulls running anything through any one else but Rose. What are Salmons/Deng going to do with the ball? jab step 3 times than throw up a jumper. I don’t see how that would improve the offense.

by Basketball Smurf on Dec 9, 2009 10:51 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah its ridiculous and I'm mad he even wrote that dumb shit.

We’ve been on Rose all season to score and when he does he gets blasted for it? Derrick Rose cannot be all things to every people. Man, I hope he gets an identity real fast because this shit is crazy.

by Playboy_Bull on Dec 9, 2009 10:57 PM CST up reply actions

Hollinger is way smarter than me, but I think that's inaccurate

If “run everything through” means “bring the ball up and pass to Salmons” then he may be on to something. Seriously, I see offense though Rose happening on the pick and pop and when he takes it inside. A lot of the time the ball is out of his hands.

Oh, and who the hell should the offense be run through? Rose is almost always the position on the court where the Bulls have a distinct offensive advantage. Productive teammates? On offense? There’s Deng. Everyone else has pretty much sucked.

By Steve Francis, does he mean not passing enough? Cause I think Rose’s assist numbers, while not good, are not horrible. Especially on this team.

What an odd commentary.

by hitlesswonder on Dec 9, 2009 11:42 PM CST up reply actions

I mentioned it in the other thread

but his observation that other teammates weren’t giving the ball up to Rose for fear of not getting it back or getting shots was pretty nuts.

I mean, it might be true, but if it is, those guys should seriously be sent packing.

by Sports2 on Dec 9, 2009 11:56 PM CST up reply actions

Just for the record, Rose has upped his stats from November to December

James Johnson breakout party!

What? No mentions of him dropping 14pts in the last 8 minutes?

Alright, he sucks. But he looks to me like the only guy besides Rose who can break down a defense. And given the play of our offense and especially Brad Miller, I could see him getting an increase of minutes after his play tonight. And for that I’m glad.

by YaoPau on Dec 10, 2009 12:15 AM CST reply actions

I've already started

a boycott, the Bulls were on my pay-no-mind list for the 1st time since the Floyd Era, we should not go to Bulls games, we should not watch Bulls games, to pass the time read, you can read the Bible, XXL, Langston Hughes, or anything Oprah suggests. You can write poetry to pass the time. Go somewhere and have a drink and play darts to pass the time. Those are a few things you could do instead of watching the Bulls
