Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

Good Bye V.D.N.

Who is with me? Huh? The Bulls just lost a game at home to a historically bad basketball team, the worst in the NBA. I'm not one to jump all over a coach while a team is struggling, not in any sport. This situation is different. The Bulls have been coached by an interm-level coach for almost 2 years now. The time is now to make the change, before the season is lost.

why is skiles even on the list?

HE wore out his welcome, but he got some decent years out of some crappy teams…VDN has done the opposite

You guys are awfully ridiculous

I mean Vinny isn’t the best coach by any stretch, but come on now, it’s not all him….it’s about 10% him, 50% injuries, and 40% GM/management….

This team was set up to fail. No 3 pt shooters. Only specialist depth, not any real depth (Pargo—good every few games, terrible in the in between, that was a known commodity), no Ben Gordon, relying heavily on 2 late 1st round picks—even if Tyrus was healthy, it was unlikely seeing what we’ve seen from Johnson that he would have been ready enough and Taj is Taj, ok for a rookie, but a long way from a starter…..

Brad Miller has had a tendency to be in less that perfect shape throughout his career, and wasn’t getting any quicker….

And hell while Luol’s been healthy, that hasn’t happened in a long time.

We were set up to fail. There’s only so much a talent like Derrick can do when the team’s set up is so weak….

Thankfully now I didn’t watch the Nets game, first game I’ve missed in a long time…..

But I’m sick as f of the coach being the friggin scapegoat. What the hell has Pax/Gar done in their what 6 years here? Nothing but breed mediocrity.

Sadly....through thick and thin....

Is firing the Vinster going to help lure in Wade, LeBitch or Bosh?

Because that’s all anyone should care about, right? This season doesn’t really matter (except to show FAs they’re a rising squad).

by chapuforyou on Dec 9, 2009 8:53 AM CST reply actions

it matters

if you care about properly developing Rose and Tyrus.. I think Noah already has a solid grasp of the game, and despite what’s going on around him, remains self-motivated.

Tyrus

Is going to be thrown from the ship. They do not care about properly developing Mr. Thomas.

Yeah, it's all on the coach. We have an amazing roster, lots of depth, no injuries and the org was clearly...

planning on being a contender this year. What a disappointment. Whoever could have predicted this well-constructed team would be bad?

by smash! on Dec 9, 2009 10:34 AM CST reply actions

True, this team was destined for failure

but if we had a coach who was even mildly competent, we at least wouldn’t be the laughing stock of the league right now.

Maybe it's all party of the plan...

Sink low at the beginning of the season, then turn it on near the end in order to be deemed a rising team. hmmmm…

by chapuforyou on Dec 9, 2009 10:38 AM CST up reply actions

C'mon man, you're more resonable than this...

First, we’re not the laughing stock of the league. Second, we’re clearly injured and seriously shorthanded, and that’s why we’re losing. Our roster, or lack there of, is losing games. Not our coach. While VDN isn’t winning us games on his own, he’s not the reason we’re losing. Phil Jackson couldn’t win with this shit roster. This is not on Vinny. His time will be up soon enough, but this is NOT all on him. No damn way.

by smash! on Dec 9, 2009 10:46 AM CST up reply actions

He isn't solely responsible..

but I think he’s the reason a lot of guys aren’t playing close to their potential (Rose, Tyrus).. While other guys are getting away with nonsense like Salmons pulled last night. I don’t think he’s necessarily good for developing players, and considering most of our players are young and raw, he’s stunting their growth, so to speak.

by NerdVernacular on Dec 9, 2009 11:16 AM CST up reply actions

our young players suck.

JJ sucks. We could have had so many other players that would be playing and contributing right now, but the ORG drafted JJ. He’s terrible. That’s not on VDN.

Taj has already reached his potential and I give VDN credit for that. BECAUSE, who the hell else is he supposed to play anyways!? BRad is looking mighty old.

Who else is young? TT has a broken arm. And he’s really only a year younger than deng. Noah and Rose are the only two playing well. Everyone else is OLD and crusty.

We have no one on this roster. No one. It’s sick.
