I know there is some concern about Derrick Rose and how his numbers are down, but it’s way too early to worry about him. We all knew coming into the season that he was dealing with a bum ankle. It’s just a matter of when it is going to get better for him. No one knows how much pain or discomfort, if any, he’s experiencing right now. It takes time to get through some injuries and you have to remember he missed almost the entire preseason. Derrick is determined to play through it and he’s going to have some up and down games. In this game and in this league, there is not a whole lot of time for recovery. But I don’t think he’s playing bad basketball. He’s doing what he has to do to get through this rough start and he puts his team first. Meanwhile, they’ve still managed to win some games despite Derrick not being at his best. He probably could be a little more assertive on the offensive end and Derrick knows that. He’ll get there. He’s also getting better defensively. He’s a big, strong kid who isn’t afraid to go inside and mix it up and come away with some rebounds. That’s his game and those things will come in time as he builds up his confidence in terms of his ankle.

I was just thinking that but I didn't wanna face anymore ridicule for my comments.

I’m not sure if you’re just joking but I would just do it to pander to me part of the dynasty hangover. I’m at the point right now where I’m so disappointed I think it might not be a bad idea.

The players would respect Pippen(ok maybe not) because he’s played here and won titles so why not? As people on here have said anything is better than VDN.

Well given that Pippen thinks the Bulls offense is better this year than last thanks to losing Ben Gordon.

I don’t think I really want him all that near the team.

If it works it works.

The Bulls were 15th offensively last year, and are now 27th this year.

One thing to me that I had thought last season was Gordon was also kind of our motor. I thought he use to energize the team just as much or even more than Noah or Tyrus or someone.
But obviously if you have a guy hitting shots that changes things around seeing clank after clank can be deflating. I kind of see it now for Detroit too.

Now our offense is Salmons shooting contested J’s and knowing they will brick. We’ve been a jumpshooting team for the last decade…nothin ever changes.

This:

At the beginning of the season, in his first piece for Bulls.com

The biggest luxury that this team has is that so many players have been able to step up. Everyone keeps talking about the absence of Ben Gordon, but the Bulls have players who are hungry on offense and looking to make up for his scoring. I like the pecking order Head Coach Vinny Del Negro has established. He uses John Salmons a lot and of course you have a lot of creativity from Derrick Rose. They’ve got a lot of versatility out there on the court, then you look at their bench and guys like Kirk Hinrich and Brad Miller can come in and step up with big plays. This is a team that plays well together, and you can’t underscore the importance of that in this league. Not to take anything away from Ben Gordon, but that style of play and how the offense revolved around him when he was in the game became too predictable. Their chemistry seems to be a lot better too at this point in the season.

The offense was still crap at that point.

We were just somehow defending team’s at an amazing level at that point.

from the deng link
Right now, it’s time to regroup. They have an opportunity to be at home for 11 games this month to win some games. Obviously they know by now there are no easy games in the NBA. Getting Tyrus Thomas and Kirk Hinrich back from injury, both of which will happen this month, will do wonders for their bench and depth. The bottom line is that when you are in this situation as a team, you can’t start feeling sorry for yourself or holding your head down. Everyone on the roster is a professional athlete and they are a part of the Chicago Bulls team. No matter how many pieces might break or fall off, they are a team and they need to come together. Every team deals with obstacles throughout the course of the season and it’s as a unit that they need to be worked through. Injuries are part of the game, just like facing tough teams on the road or having one of your best players get into foul trouble. The Bulls talked a lot about establishing a defensive identity at the beginning of the season and that has since fallen by the wayside a little bit. If they revisit that and get guys healthy, some of these recent struggles and adversity will all be forgotten sooner than later.

sounds good to me.

the name of the team is The DIAMONDBACKS

Come Coach us Scottie

I would give you years even if we stunk to figure things out….it’s ok to do that with real Chicago legends….

Come to Chicago! You want to be here, Jerry make it happen. Why Scottie wasn’t at minimum made an assistant coach surprised me then and now….

Sad thing is I like Vinny’s personality, and think much of our problems are more to the GM, depth and fit, than Vinny…but if the GM got Scottie, I could let it rest…

Sadly....through thick and thin....
