Blazers PR says fractured left patella for Oden, likely out for season.

@johnhollinger

What a fuckin' bummer for Blazer's fans and for poor Greg Oden. That guy has some lousy luck.

Hmmm

Gonna have to put Joel on my fantasy team.

Wow though it looks bad for his career I thought he’d finally get it going

by Camry on Dec 5, 2009 10:46 PM CST reply actions

I feel for the guy

when the blazers destroyed the bulls two weeks ago I was at least able to take solace in the fact that oden was finally playing well…damn.

Nick Friedell: What's the biggest difference for you right now, compared to when you entered the league two years ago?

Joakim Noah: I would say eating breakfast.

by BigBenign on Dec 5, 2009 10:51 PM CST reply actions

poor kid

he’d been playing great this year. as much as we rag on blazers fans here, i feel their pain. oden seems like a great guy and was looking like a great player.

Ouch

Anyone see the replay his knee looks real messed up _

This pic sums it up pretty good... and by good I mean bad.

When the Blazers play bad I don't like them less... I like Blazers Edge less.

maybe I should have just linked that...

sorry

That is so gross looking. Jeesh. Poor guy.

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

Woah I caught a completely different angle on the vid of course and I thought it looked like it collapsed but this looks even worse. I still don’t see where he injures it though.

by Camry on Dec 7, 2009 2:18 AM CST up reply actions

yeah on the replays i was having a tough time seeing where the actual injury occurred too.

must not have been showing the right angle.

I think it happened while he jumped

There was no real collision with Brooks, he just jumped and it popped out.

He certainly has

had some bad luck. I feel bad for him.

Great pun!

I feel shitty for the Blazers fans

So bad I haven’t even dared to suggest an Aaron Gray trade, even though I’m dying too.

by Sports2 on Dec 6, 2009 12:54 PM CST reply actions

Aaron Gray can't be dealt for another couple weeks, I think.

And they have plenty of depth. They’ll have to go small some, but they’ve got so much talent, they’ll be fine.

Portland has $1.425M in cap space

so the Bulls could send them Gray for something like a second round pick or a bag of basketballs, and not have to take a player back.

Um, not right now. Their roster is decimated.

Oden, Rudy, Batum, and Outlaw are all out with injuries. Juwan Howard is getting minutes. Juwan Howard. That’s how bad it is for them right now.

by Illini15 on Dec 6, 2009 5:46 PM CST up reply actions

Juwan Howard is younger than Lindsay Hunter.

Gray might be an upgrade over Howard at this point – at the very worst he is a huge body with 6 fouls.

I feel bad for Oden...

He was starting to play well…don’t feel bad for the Blazers or their fans…

Thomas, Miller, Salmons, James, Pargo, Gray, MLE, and LLE will not be here with a Max Free Agent...don't get too attached.

I don't feel bad for Pricthard.

Karma for trying to blackball Darius Miles?

That really sucks for him

He was starting to play pretty well too. I just saw on ESPN that Nate McMillan even hurt himself. WTF?

because they have so many injuries, the coach had to practice with the players

and that’s how he got injured.

that is some funny shit

maybe VDN should suit up. We could use the 3pt shooting.

He couldn't possibly be any worse than Hunter

Yipes, just saw the photo.

Terrible loss for the Blazers, you could really see how much this affected the players and staff.

Hopefully there was no severe ligament damage, but that’s now a major surgery on both knees. Is there any hope for him to look like the 19 year old beast at Ohio State anymore?

The 2009 White Sox....like a 40 degree day.
