Well lets face it, LeBron and Wade are not coming here.

I don’t know anymore. They have some choices to make.

no way those guys come to Chicago

/at least Pat Riley is still running the show in Miami

May not need em.... this team need to be built around Rose. All we need is some

good pieces around Derrick Rose. If we get a big name that would be gravy, but with the way Rose is beginning to play then it may not be a big deal. We may be able to snag Anthony Randolf.

I like the way the Thunder is building their team. I think we should go that route or even how the Atlanta Hawks are building their team.

Young and athletic.

warriors have a bunch of interesting guys

randolph is definitely no. 1 there. wizards have a bunch too. blatche, young, mcgee, foye.

trouble is, a team with next to no chance of making the playoffs might figure to stick with the young guys on rookie contracts. washington will stick around the eight seed even if they continue to disappoint, just because the east is so piss poor.

the name of the team is The DIAMONDBACKS

Get a good coach. Get Evan Turner. Keep Tyrus Thomas.

Win championships!

In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).

Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.

I should add, I'd rather have Bosh than Thomas....

…but I’m assuming no one “comes” to Chicago, and they have to keep Thomas just like ATL kept Smith. By letting him get an offer from someone else and then matching t.

i wonder if any "max guys" will leave where they are?

then thomas looks to get a relatively big offer from one of the (many) teams that made their big cap space plans. (i really don’t see it as bg part 2, that would depend on thomas and his agent.)

unlike bart (i think?), i like deng and believe he fits. but i would trade him to the warriors for randolph and play him with thomas. it would be awesome to keep deng too, as i think between he, tyrus and randolph, one will end up with legit 3 point range (probably deng, though).

Then maybe we can go

5 years $44M….that would be a great contract…

wow English

He said they should target Boozer.

by SoulEater7 on Dec 29, 2009 9:36 PM CST up reply actions

even if they target Boozer/Bosh/Amare

there is still room for Tyrus on this team. he is too versatile and good to just let walk. Playing off the bench behind someone legit he could be a great 6th man

by Basketball Smurf on Dec 29, 2009 9:37 PM CST up reply actions

Someone will be available

If we can then also keep TT and he gets better and better, we’ll be in business

I'm not really a Chris Bosh fan though.

I realize he’s having a good year but I also realize he’s going balls out for a big contract. I know it sounds crazy but I really think Tyrus just does so many things for this team.

by SoulEater7 on Dec 29, 2009 9:44 PM CST up reply actions

a good year?

you mean a good five years right? He’s as much of a lock for 20/10 as anyone aside from Duncan or Dwight. Bosh is the only big man of any abillity in Toronto, and he still controls games.

I understand the idea that Tyrus is a better fit for us, but Bosh is an elite big man. Understand that.

and still young, I don’t think you’ll be overpaying

by QUINTEN DALEY on Dec 30, 2009 10:26 AM CST up reply actions

Am I the only one who thinks Tyrus has a tremendous upside?

but he would need a legitimate big man coach
would have to improve his footwork and ball handling skills
needs a coach that would encourage him and let him learn by playing thru his mistakes. Point them out, but than let him not have to look over his shoulder every time he screws up. Someone who can teach the finer points of defense to a young guy who could be a real beast.

He’s a young 23 in terms of experience (having been exposed to mediocre teaching)

With his quickness, athletic ability and defensive skill potential, why can’t he be a future star? We’re not talking about Salmons, Miller or Kirk here. This stallion is still raw. And if the Bulls let him go to a program that recognizes his potential, it will make Gordon’s loss seem like a stroll in the park. Just one man’s opinion. I could be full of it, but I don’t think so.

If you can't answer a man's arguments, all is not lost. You can still call him vile names.

The Bulls ain't going to do shit while Deng and Hinrich are on this team.

I think Tyrus can play the Three or Four like Josh Smith. If we get Bosh or Boozer then Tyrus can move to the three. We then can focus on a good SG one that is athletic and can shoot and/or finish when Derrick passes the ball to them.

I think Tyrus could be a more athletic Marion or a player like Andre Kirlenko. If we let Tyrus go then we will live to regret that decision.

by Bart71 on Dec 29, 2009 9:51 PM CST up reply actions

he really changes a games.

by SoulEater7 on Dec 29, 2009 9:56 PM CST up reply actions

Yes

I hope he keeps this up, but suddenly we’re a lot more fun to watch again, and seem to be a different/better team with Tyrus still not having all his timing back….

Sadly....through thick and thin....

to hit his jumper more consistently to be a legit 3 in the league

Murphy 5 pts 1 reb .... he makes 11 million a year

Drose 6 TO

Fish and Brad 33 pts off the bench

T-Mac makes 23 million. Guys get paid. They have bad games too.

This team can look pretty good...when the opposing team's best player doesn't play.

(Danny Granger)

/but at least the Bulls beat the Hornets with Chris Paul back.
/didn’t see the game, just the boxscore
/looks like Tyrus shot poorly but had 15 rebounds and 3 blocks in 31 minutes…that’s pretty good

Vinny's subconscious fantasies about Kirk are rising to the surface.

I can hear him now. When you get the rock Kurt, I want you to drive it as hard as you can, penetrate, push it, give it lots of thrust, take it to the hole. Oh Lord, he scores again.
From now on baby you are my number one shooting guard, but don’t dribble unless you have to.

And I agree, VDN is not a bad guy, and he is also not a very bright guy when it comes to x’s and 0’s, so why don’t they just put him in the front office and have him sell season tickets to ladies and gay guys who get turned out by thick hair.

The most important thing for this franchise is Rose getting better and playing well

and by that standard, this game was great. The real noticeable thing to me in regards to his play recently is that he seems way more confident. He doesn’t appear to hang his head as much after a missed shot or two, he just comes right back at it.

Also, Tyrus really does add another dimension to this team. If he continues to evolve and get a little more polish offensively, the idiots in the front office are gonna have a tough decision (is there any other kind for them?) on what exactly to do with him. But in the end they’ll probably just give him away for three cents on the dollar like every other talented player that’s come through these parts in the last few years.

Vinny Del OH NO!

by Juiceboxjerry on Dec 29, 2009 9:59 PM CST reply actions

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I think BG's situation was a little different.

I think people in the organization realize what Tyrus can bring. I also believe Gar is a big fan of Tyrus because he mentions him more than Deng when talking about the core.

by SoulEater7 on Dec 29, 2009 10:16 PM CST up reply actions

Well realizing it and doing something about it are two very different things

The orgs commitment to Tyrus has been murky to say the least. A lot of that can definitely be attributed to Tyrus’ own inconsistency and it still might not be too late to get something for him or extend him (if anyone even wants that considering 2010 FA plans), but to me the whole thing feels like it will end badly for the Bulls. I do hope I’m wrong though.

Rose is really coming on.

Over his last 5 games he now has averages of:
24.8 ppg 4.8 reb 6.4 ast and 2.8 TO’s on 50% FG and 79% FT shooting

He’s been very agressive taking 20.8 shots a game as well. I love what I’m seeing.
