Dunno

I can actually see the merits of that. If you foul, it’s likely that the Knicks make at least 1 of 2. Then you have to score twice AND put them back at the line again for another couple of attempts. If the Bulls had got a stop, which they nearly did, it’s a one possession game and the Bulls have the Bull.

I don’t often agree with Vinny, but I think that was the right call

A point of note, we had a great run, but we couldn't finish because we don't have a go to clutch player.

If anything, this is where B.G was missed, somebody has to become the go to scorer. Especially if Vinny won’t play TT in the 4th quarter.

by Mr Rhythm on Dec 22, 2009 9:00 PM CST reply actions

I think the problem is we only have one payer who is a threat...

we need a few…Derrick isnt that good of an outside shooter yet to be a threat. We need reliable shooting threats.

Bulls outscored NY 50-35 in the second half, yet still end up with only 81 points.

How do they not even drop 90 against the Knicks? Maybe someone can release a “Rose only” version of games where all we see is him making great plays, and just block out all the other notes of failure.

The last two nights feel like a really bad breakup

So I’m breaking out the good icecream and pretending like the Bulls don’t and never have existed.

My family’s not into basketball, so I won’t have a choice about missing the next 3 games – maybe by then I’ll be ready to take them back if they offer their sincerest sounding apologies and start playing like they belong in the NBA.

I'm watching the Memphis game, we should trade JJ for Memphis rookie Sam Young

he’s about 6’7 can play 2 or 3. good shooter, very athletic, and has 3pt range. He would be a upgrade over Salmons.

by Mr Rhythm on Dec 22, 2009 9:03 PM CST reply actions

In the third quarter

Derrick took over and played amazing. He even capped it off with a buzzer beating three. So naturally u expect to see him in the fourth. But VDN benches him got what 5-6 minutes? Fucken retarded. Did he think a 22 year old was as tired as brad miller? Please let thos stupid shit end now.

I'm cuckoo for Kukoc!!!

by Yibs on Dec 22, 2009 9:05 PM CST via mobile reply actions

That is what ended the game. Rose should not have sat down at all in the third and fourth quarters.

In fact, since Rose likes to take over on the second half then Vinny should rest him more in the first half and let him play the second half.

by Bart71 on Dec 22, 2009 9:07 PM CST up reply actions

Vinny's reactionary

He got a ton of criticism after last night’s game for not resting the starters and having them tired at the end. So tonight he makes sure to rest them.

It’s like the end-of-game TO thing – it’s like he says “Damnit, I’m not going to screw this up again!” But it doesn’t lead to him making the right decision, necessarily, just not the same one.

by Yibs on Dec 22, 2009 9:28 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

He's not better

He’s shooting 15% from 3 and wasn’t really that great of a long range shooter in college. He’s not real athletic either. Doesn’t pass well or handle the ball all that well. A nice guy off the bench who can give you a few minutes, but he’s not winning this team any games. I’d rather wait out JJ as he has more upside.

I picture something like the old Simpsons baseball episode

Burns had in mind hiring ringers for the team. He unveils a
chart of a baseball diamond, with names like Honus Wagner and
Mordecai ``Three-Finger’’ Brown. Smithers points out that all of the
plays have retired, and are long dead. (``In fact, your right fielder
has been dead for 130 years.’’) So Burns sends Smithers out to scour
the American, National, and Negro Leagues to find players. He has 24 hours.

I’m sure this fits in with the org’s sense of tradition – no other reason to wait.

They should have come out pissed after last night and been on a mission. I only saw the final and score by quarters, but it looks like that didn’t happen…

Pax for Head Coach

Time for Reinsdorf to force Paxson in as Head Coach. He doesn’t want it? Then fire him. He built this team and it’s only fair he see first hand how bad it is and no longer scapegoats coaches.

It also solves the problem of signing a new coach who could clash with any potential free agents. And while Pax is a crappy GM, he can’t be any worse than VDN.

by Niwrad on Dec 22, 2009 9:31 PM CST reply actions

Then send him packing

Sends a bad message when the guy who created this mess can hide out in the background while the ship sinks. If he wants to be in the background, have him do it off the team payroll.

not really...Sac got rid of the dead weight, features its #4 pick PG, and plays the young guys

hhhmmm….I wonder how many other teams could have used that approach?

It was.

It’s just that the garbage we got didn’t stink until later.

by Stacey_Is_King on Dec 22, 2009 9:40 PM CST up reply actions

Hah - we got fresh garbage!

But it’s not so fresh anymore…. If Fish does opt out, we’re still OK. Although Noc at least still looks like he cares.

The weird thing is he did better (although that is a relative term)

after getting benched. Kirk meanwhile looked pretty good when he first came in and didn’t do a ton in the second half when he started.

Overall, though, I still like the look of the team better with Kirk on the floor than Fish, and with the exception of the Sacto game our starts/3rds lately have been pretty bad. I’d like to see him at least try something different.

Hopefully that something different includes Miller going back to the bench ASAP.

good point seems salmons was relying on jump shot too much

he stopped driving and started turning ball over, but when he started hanging his head and making lazy passes I think that was last straw.

by sugarbear06 on Dec 22, 2009 10:16 PM CST up reply actions

Actually it couldve been alright

but then the bulls organization decided to get rid of ben gordon….i mean seriously? This team after the trade last year wasnt bad, it wasnt a great trade, but it made us a bit better, the problem is the bulls organization kinda went out of their way to make us worse….

3 paid players

I think after deng and heinrich got paid bulls decided that was enough payroll thiis hurt Gordon

by sugarbear06 on Dec 22, 2009 10:18 PM CST up reply actions

whatever they decided

they decided wrong….

if salary was never an issue, it wouldve been so awesome….

Rose/Hinrich
Gordon/Salmons/Hinrich
Deng/Salmons/James Johnson
Tyrus/Taj/James Johnson
Noah/Miller

wow….that wouldve been a great team, so damn deep, if someon sucked (cuz someone always sucks, usually often) another player would be able to come off the bench and pick up the slack…then maybe later you get rid of the guys who seem less relevent, or likable…let other teams come to u….keep rose untouchable…maybe noah…and just sit back and let the offers come to u….get rid of some salary, and go into the offseason and pick up another star….

damn so many options….and we instead limited ourselves to basically one….our option….TO SUCK!!!!

On the other hand, you can have Aaron Gray. Hes dead to me anyways.

ironically thats the advice bob knight gave

the portlands gm in the 1984 draft

“Who are you gonna draft”
Sam Bowie
You Should draft Michael Jordan
Nah, we need a center
Draft jordan and play him at center

shouldve listened to Knight….although i am grateful you guys didnt…

You know what is amazing>?

The amount of awful teams in the east.

After Boston, Cleveland, Orlando, and Atlanta, the next winning-est team is Miami with 13 wins!

What a pathetic overall conference.

A 37 win team will probably make the playoffs this year.

this is where the hope comes in

sometimes just hearing a different voice(like a new coach) can energize a team I don’t think we are far away just a couple of players

The first half team and second half team, this is bad sign on coach"s control of team.

honestly did you or anyone else see the faces of the players

after the final timeouts in the fourth, they told the whole story.

what the heck was with the alleyoop try when the Bulls were down 3 with like 50 seconds. Then the sloppy give to Deng…put the ball in Rose’s hands!!

It's hard to tell what Noah is referring to

Bulls don’t seem to have any trouble makers or selfish players.

My guess is that Noah was referring to the Bulls not willing to pay Gordon.

He's likely talking about a lot of things, not just coaching.

Here’s a list of what’s bugging Noah, in no particular order.

1) He’s the only one out there busting his ass.

2) Derrick is still lazy out there defensively and too passive offensively for long periods of time. Tonight was last night for Derrick, just flip flopped. Last night he feasted in the first half and drifted in the second, tonight he feasted in the second half and disappeared in the first.

3) Brad Miller Sucks.

4) Vinny’s an absolute idiot. What other coach in the league calls timeouts to call an isolation play?

5) Salmons is G-d awful, while Kirk is only slightly better.

6) He plays on a team with Jannero Pargo, Lindsey Hunter and Aaron Gray.

7) Luol Deng is soft. He’s productive, but he’s so damn soft.

Why would #2 bother Noah

when they’ve been playing on the same level, if Rose not being better?

by Stacey_Is_King on Dec 23, 2009 12:14 AM CST up reply actions

What's that got to do with anything.

Anyone watching the Bulls knows Derrick could be dominating games with more regularity, including Noah. His performance shouldn’t affect an opinion of a fellow player.
