There's just some things you can't teach.

Heeeeeeeeeee's Back

Great game by D Rose last night. I expect nothing but great things from this point on.

Um... you think that's not something that can be taught?

In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).

Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.

I honestly don't

That play displayed so much.

Agility, natural athletic ability, speed, awareness, creativity and most of all . . . the pressure to make such an important shot whilst all the chaos involved in that play

I think it can be taught.

But it takes Agility, natural athletic ability, speed, awareness, creativity, timing to pull it off. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHOq16-q6H4

If you have all those attributes, then yes . . . it can be taught

But those abilities are what can not be taught.

Got my point?

In that sense, nothing can be taught???

I realize I’m getting sucked into a vortex of unknowledge here, but whatever.

Whether it can be taught or not

DRose is a great player. Or at least, he can/will be.

hes already showed he possesses some pretty good footwork around the basket.

two things strike me about this. 1) combined with his strength it would seem derrick would be a candidate for some post play at some point in his career. obviously he’ll have to get better at shooting first. 2) it would be good to see him use his footwork and some clever modulations of his speed to get fouled like roy, pierce, billups, martin, etc. use.

"Oooohhh, cat in the wall, eh? Now you're talkin' my language."

Rose is our magnet

Believe it, players are drooling at the opportunity to play with him, he is our recruitment tool make no mistake about it, I was thinking of Joe Johnson and I thought how he would be the replaacement for Ben Gordon in spades, any of those free agents plus Rose and now you can see light at the end of the tunnel.

No doubt, Rose is back

but i wonder if he has already mastered all the fundamentals of dribbling? See, I’m no hoops whisperer but have you noticed in some instances that when he commits a turnover, it’s mostly because he just loses the ball off his hand and in an awkward and in a silly manner. And plus he has the tendency to take it easy and be careless after a failed attacked to the rim and he does this “backing off habit”(with his back facing the basket) that’s really very susceptible to a turnover (you know what I mean?)..
I don’t know but it might just be his lack of experience or more importantly lack of coaching. I’m not bashing DRose. He’s the new hope of chicago sports fans other than the blackhawks and the failed Jcutler project.
Go Bulls! Go away Vinny!

Work in progress

I think we as fans expect pefection from our stars beyond what is normal, this is his second year as a professional and mistakes will be made when you take chances, Let us see this as a growing up experience, but when he is aggressive and when he lowers his head he can make a fool of some noteworthy defenders and let’s not forget speed kills, some fan from sacramento wanted to know the difference between Rose and their rookie point guard and it is speed.when his package comes together he will somebody to reckon with.

My complaint about that game regarding Rose

Is that twice on the last possession he couldn’t use his strength that he is known for to break away and catch the ball for the final shot. Granted, he had a bigger, stronger ‘defensive’ guard on him. But come on, if he is gonna be the focal point from now on for last shots in a game, then he needs to work on getting free and slipping an elbow here and there (and in-bounds plays being drawn up better to free ’the focal point").

All your base are belong to Vinny.

the greatest clutch player in NBA history

his airness the one and only MJ hit that famous shot against Ehlo and the Cavs, what year pro would you say that was, this is the most rare of pro atheletic talents which is to be effective when the game is on the line, rare is the professional who excels when game is decided by him, we had the greatest, but he got better with time, the reason I have hope in D. Rose is his having grown up in Englewood which is no punk, fear isn’t an option for him, so he won’t rattle easy, plus public league ballplayers have a savvy to them.

he is learning without a teacher or is he surrounded by talent

I could think of several plays in the last few games where I wish that he did this or that, but remember scottie in his second year, and horace, Oakley was slapping them both around but they evolved, what examples does Rose have? Who is his mentor? This game is a Man’s game and very few master it in two years.
