Open Game Thread #23 Overflow: Bulls vs. L.A. Lakers
I'll write a recap if I think there's actually something to learn from the game.

Deng needs to stick to Artest, Artest has had like 4 uncontested 3pt shots already
and oops…Derrick lmao
the bulls should forget the ball and just go after bryants finger
rake it as much as possible on every possession cuz i despise him
Obviously Rose' speed is an advantage
But I think that on fast breaks he outruns his players sometimes.
Paul a lot of times slows downs and waits for his wing players to catch up and run the lane first

This is going sound ridiculously cynical, but the Lakers must not want it badly tonight
The Bulls are outrebounding them, which is not to be expected.

I can actually see a Kirk-style Kermit the frog
The hairstyle just goes
Just waiting on some offense....
But he could start and still get traded
It’s not like making a lineup change means he’s here forever.
Just waiting on some offense....
It would be
interesting to see if there was a difference if he did start.
OK I don't know shit about basketball.

I would say it has been on Hinrich, Miller and Salmons.

I don't think so.
I don’t think they would have fired him anyways. They don’t even know who to hire.
Really?
This will be another loss. And there will be much a bunch more. A close L to the Lakers won’t be a big deal over the next 3 and 13 stretch or whatever it will be.
The only question is if VDN gets fired during the season or at the end. There’s not much drama really.

We’re already giving guys big minutes who shouldn’t be getting them, if T-Mac is out for a length of time then who are we left with on court?
the point is, what is there really to gain "on court" this year anyways?

fun game
but i think the only finger you can point to in this game is derrick. i love him, he’s my favorite player, but he missed a lot of key shots down the stretch. i pray it wasnt the injury and is just the result of an unkind rim.
I actually thought he played a good game.
He got to the basket plenty, showed he could hit a few jumpers. The players that mattered had good games, Deng, Noah, Rose… Too bad that was it and nobody else is worth much on that team…Oh, I guess Miller played alright too, but he’ll be old yesterday.
I thought he did pretty well as far as shooting goes maybe he can try and get to the line more. The good news is hes already gotten to line 6 more times in December than all of last month.
Well I think like Phil Jackson said hes still in uncharted territory a bit. As the season goes along he’ll learn better as to when to take shots and facilitate.
Wow blame the guy who scored 21pts withe 6ast and rebounds but
not the starting 2-guard who scored 2… count it 2 pts! I don’t know who you guys think Derrick is but whatever it is, Rose ain’t that. He needs help and this team isn’t situated to help him . I think Rose is doing just find given the circumstances.
They have someone who can close out a game

And they looked better than they have even in the most recent wins.
And really it’s some consolation to know that they did pretty darn good on everyone but Kobe.

And there’s something to the fact that, with him taking so many shots, there aren’t as many for everyone else – I just meant that the second leading scorer only has 11 points. That’s pretty good.

There are no words to describe your ignorance on this matter...
I’m sorry my brother, but why do assume I’m not Asian? Might I know something like this? Think about it.
FYI, my grandmother has been calling people lots of things for lots of years, none of that makes it right.
How can we have the worst offense in the league when everything about our team owner and coach is offensive?

The bulls are f***ed
As long as Dorf owns them. He’s a bottom line man, who cares if the team doesn’t deliver, the fans do. You see, fans brought season tickets last year to see Rose. Then this year because of the 1st round series with boston last year. Read the book “Michael Jordan and the world he made” to get a better understanding of dorf the bottom line man.
What I’m saying is, the Bulls are doomed to be a mid range team until Dorf sells/dies.

'kay guys
how about rip hamilton? i think he would be a great fit for rose with his ability to move off the ball
Contract is too long
And Hamilton really needs a structured offense so he can get shots off screens. Chicago’s offense, if you can call it that, is the complete opposite.
To secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself.
Well, since everyone is going on trade talks

Anthony Randolph is apparently available.

Hinrich, Salmons, Gibson=7/21 from the field tonight.
That’s pretty pathetic. They tried hard on defense, but having a 6’10’ PF who can’t rebound play 23 minutes against the longest frontcourt in the league is just begging for a loss.
I can’t say I’m panicking, but it really sucks watching Rose annihilate defenders and miss point blank layups. Now, if he can display this type of effort against shitty teams he’s back on track. And I love Noah and all, but stop fucking trying to lay the ball in against Gasol and Bynum in the paint. Either try to dunk, or pass it out. His 14 offensive rebounds rings pretty hollow if you watched the game.
The 2009 White Sox....like a 40 degree day.
yeah, noahs game reminded me of some games he had last year where his rebs were inflated
bwcause he just kept missing tip ins.
"Oooohhh, cat in the wall, eh? Now you're talkin' my language."
Once again, I'm hating with the composite stats
They were actually 8/21 if the boxscore is correct – and more importantly, Kirk was 5/11 and the other two 3/10. And if you want to fair to Taj, he had the two makes to John’s 1.
Just waiting on some offense....
I don't want to be fair to Taj, I dislike him ;)
Kirk looked good for a stretch, then his shots went back to clanking off the rim. I’ll at least give Salmons credit for realizing he’s not good on offense (or at least can’t score against elite defenses) and not forcing the issue. And in the interest of being fair, all 3 had very good defensive games. But, trying hard doesn’t mean much in the long run. One game where they showed life doesn’t outweigh the past 2 weeks of garbage basketball.

despite the loss
it was nice to see them play like a real basketball team tonight.
salmons in foul trouble → coincidence? kirk actually was shooting well until the end there.
if kobe has to score 42 pts and they win by < 10, well, i dunno. is it ok to be slightly more optimistic? they really did collapse at the end there though.
"They should. They better. I'm Vinny Del Negro!"
It just made me marvel at the Lakers. Artest and Gasol did absolutely nothing offensively and they still won pretty handily.

I didn't like the exchange Rose had with Deng, it's another character issue he's showing if you ask me.
T-Mac = greatest waste of talent ever?
With all his god-given abilities, he never really was able to take his team to the next level.
Kinda’ like his cousin Vince Carter.

which of tmacs teams do you think should have gone further than they did? if you look at
them, he played with a host of crap.
"Oooohhh, cat in the wall, eh? Now you're talkin' my language."
The team is unwatchable for a variety of reasons, but
VDN is so incompetent it makes one’s head spin.
Reinsdorf hit the jackpot with MJ by luck but his front office choices outside of Krause picking Phil and then Pip and Horace have been horrible. Rose fell into their hands and he looks confused now. Super low Bball IQ.
James Johnson is a bust. He looked completely lost on the court. Just play basketball he literally stood his ground 5 feet from the basket when a rebound came his way. He was worried about spacing. He has the Bball IQ of a slug.
Meanwhile teams like Hopuston win with half their salary cap on the sideline due to injuries.
DoucheBulls.

DECEMBER 16th IS AMONG US
“The most logical date to fire VDN”
Remember?
I don’t see how a fourth quarter collapse (11 points) saves his job
Its been December 16 in Australia for 15 hours.
What are we waiting for? December 24th?

Bulls scored what, 56 points over the final 3 quarters?
if not for that flukey first, they would ended up with 75 or less
