My guy (tm: Mike North) Mike Prada goes through all 30 teams in terms of league pass desirability, and the Bulls are in a tier all their own. Can't disagree.

Welp, can't say I disagree

I’m a guy who watched every minute of Bulls basketball the last couple seasons (Comcast puts them OnDemand) but at this point I’ve resigned myself to mainly just watching the first half. Usually we’re down by at least 20 points after that so I just watch casually after that.

Ugh, I hate our “organization.” If we can even call it that anymore.

Wait

Bulls games are available on demand with Comcast?

I’m losing the DVR recording space wars with the girlfriend. This will help me win two battles.

Yes

under Sports and Fitness, go to Comcast SportsNet (you have to go one page down I think) and then under the Bulls tab they usually have whatever games have been played in the past 3-4 days. Commercials, pre-game and post-game are still in there (and it’s not HD) but you can always fast-forward.

so true
(Though it is funny to watch Vinny Del Negro’s “coaching” in action. “We missed a couple of freethrows, they got a couple of offensive rebounds, we missed a couple of shots! NO BIG DEAL!!”)

When i heard him say that in that coaching vid

i started cracking up…and felt sorry for this team and myself…

I just like watching everyone space out in the huddle and then the cherry on top...

Kirk abruptly walking away from the huddle throwing his towel with some of the worst body language I have ever witnessed while VDN is still saying attack come on! Even the coaches look disinterested.

Sadly this is so true

We’re a long way from the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 never give up team that would be down 25 pts and spark a big run to make it interesting or pull off a win. That’s when I’d argue we were amongst the most fun teams to watch in the league (heck even the tail end of last year we were a blast to watch))))…..but we had a dynamic threat scorer who was criminally derided for what he wasn’t, despite the fact that he was electrifying and solid at what he was…..he and Rose could have made a really dynamic duo….oh well.

Nowadays it’s fun to look for the 4-5 Rose moments, 1-3 Noah moments and well that’s about it….in 25 pt blowouts….

Such a shame…

More indictment of the Bulls lack of coaching/player development.

Thabo Sefolosha, who is quickly evolving into Doug Christie 2.0. I’m convinced that if the Wizards had Sefolosha instead of Nick Young, they would win 10 more games. Sefolosha’s always in the right position defensively, quarterbacks their rotations, shuts down your perimeter scorer, is a brilliant passer and has an improving jump shot. I never thought Thabo was this good, but he is.

We miss you, Ben Gordon!

by Granny Waiters on Dec 14, 2009 7:31 PM CST reply actions

I still say Thabo is trash

but he belongs in the NBA, which is more than I can say for most of the Bulls benc.

dude's right

thabo was and is a gem. nash is more amazing this year than he was in the mvp years. i must remind myself how i’ve been spoiled, how my standards have been warped watching him quarterback. taking him for granted.

the bulls started out playing like a version of houston that just couldn’t buy a three bucket. then the perimeter shooting got somewhat better, ‘cause it couldn’t have been any worse (until the last couple games: about 10% on 3s!). but the defense went all to hell, and guys upping their percentages slightly plus derrick moving more aggressively hasn’t equalled an offense with any sort of visual appeal. and so we are sad.

the name of the team is The DIAMONDBACKS

by marionette on Dec 15, 2009 4:38 AM CST up reply actions

I think the argument is that he's improved this year,

which means that including his 2007-2009 numbers isn’t the best idea to debunk it.

by Prevenge on Dec 17, 2009 3:15 AM CST up reply actions

I watched him last night against the Mavs.

He really does nothing on offense. I’d liken him to Morris Peterson when he was the starting 2 guard with Chris Paul. Space the floor (aka go stand in the corner), occasionally cut, and if he’s lucky knock down some jump shots. His defense is solid, but it’s at a Hinrich/Nocioni level where the announcers just read from a script when talking about Thabo.

The 2009 White Sox....like a 40 degree day.

2 points to make.....

Vinny is hilarious and I feel for him, I used to hate him but now I don’t. Point number 2, Memphis is a very entertaining team. O.J Mayo not being able to drive is crazy!!!! This guy is a very smart ball player, he can shoot, he can penetrate and finish with both hands, he can pass, he’s smooth and he’s got a ton of game. He’s like a smaller Brandon Roy, O.J Mayo is for real. Memphis is turning it around and will give the western teams fits, I think they’ll get into the playoffs bar any serious injuries. They barely lost to Boston last night but they gave them al types of trouble. This is one of the best teams to watch right now! Look out for Sam Young also, a guy we could have and should have drafted since we lost our SG!

by Mr Rhythm on Dec 15, 2009 7:51 AM CST reply actions

Bulls have fallen below the Nick's bottom line

This is tragic since that means no way in hell any good FA will consider coming here. Get ready for the second coming of a Jalen Rose. Get Benny the Bull and the cheerleaders ready and get to O’hare to pander to third tier free agents!!!

by Fastbreak on Dec 15, 2009 8:48 AM CST reply actions

We traded for Jalen Rose

We didn’t sign him as a FA….

You could say get ready for the 2nd coming of Ben Wallace perhaps….because we outbid ourselves really for his services….giving a 27.7% premium over the Pistons top offer for him….and this is the last year we’re paying for it….

Sadly....through thick and thin....

It's really sad

That there were 5 rec’s (and I just added a 6th) to a post listing that presumably our favorite team is so bad and tough to watch….

I rec’d cuz I’d hope Bulls mgmt is listening….

Fire Paxson and Gar!!! Enough of htis. If Jerry wants to hold a tough cap at the luxury tax level, then it’s their job to get a quality team to at least be close to competing in those parameters…they haven’t…we’re paying a ton to be this awful and boring….and well…I do think if these guys could be close to title threats Jerry would pay to keep us there…we haven’t been….it’s on the GM first.

AND WE HAVE 2 GM’S FOR CHRISSAKES…B.S.

Sadly....through thick and thin....

by majoyenrac on Dec 15, 2009 10:54 AM CST reply actions   1 recs

Totally agree

A lot of people are mad at Jerry for not paying the tax but I’m sure GarPax knew his stance on this. GarPax has shown little foresight and have done a terrible job at building and developing this team. Just for example, if you know that JR won’t pay the tax, why then do you waste roster spots on Aaron Gray, Lindsey Hunter and outbid yourselves for Jannero Pargo? None of these guys have any ability at all (ok maybe Pargo is a decent streak shooter sometimes). At the very least, find a 3 point specialist or a Reggie Evans type rebounder/defender to fill those spots.

GarPax don't care anymore, easy decisions by beat down men, they just collect a paycheck like Kirk ,Deng, Kendall Gill and Vinny Del Negro

Nobody has much interests because they’ ve all given up!

Actually they dislike Dorf more than most.
