NF: Speaking of family members, I’ve noticed that every so often, [Bulls coach] Vinny [Del Negro] or [Bulls point guard] Derrick [Rose] will accidentally call you Curt instead of Kirk. Do you notice that? Does that bug you, or have you gotten used to it?

KH: No, it doesn’t bug me. I’m used to it. I had an assistant coach from college who’s from Oklahoma who couldn’t say … he said it that way, too. It’s just his accent, he couldn’t say it. So, I got used to it. (Laughs)

NF: Do you ever remind him and say, "Vinny there’s a “K” at the end there, man?"

KH: No, I never remind him.

with that attitude you’re more executive material.

Let’s call him a thousand times before every game to get him pumped up.

KH: I don’t know. I think they’ve had injuries. I kind of felt like they had a good thing going, and they made some moves that just didn’t work out this year. So hopefully they can get it back going next year, because it seemed like they were kind of on their way of getting over the hump. Making the playoffs a couple years and it just didn’t happen for them last year. And that happens, but you just have to sort it out and stay with it, and get back on the horse the next year.
