It was nice to see Rose start to capitalize with that nice run to put us ahead

I want to see Rose make opponents pay for not putting their best defender on him.

Even though we lost, where’s all the Jennings is better than Rose talk now?

I don't think anyone claimed Jennings was the better player,

rather many, including myself, wish Derrick played the game with the same mentality that Jennings does, and last night did not change my opinion. I want Derrick to think that he’s the guy, he’s the end-all-be-all and to play like he knows that if he doesn’t come out looking to dominate the team won’t have much of a chance of winning.

theres an entire post isnt there?

devoted to how jennings is better than rose is….hell i got into an argument with my brother over the fact that he thought jennings was like the next great superstar in the league….Jennings has only proven to be the best rookie in last years draft (with blake out) and thats about it, he scored 55 pts and its a huge achievement, and his upside might be an ai or agent zero but he isnt there yet…

The media hyped him up and everyone accepted he was already a superstar…chris paul had less media hype his rookie year…..

jennings is the better pure point guard

rose may be the better athlete.
its clear jennings has better point vision
rose is still a hybrid of a point guard.
jennings is also much lighter giving rose the edge in size.
on the other hand jennings is a better shooter than rose

Why does everyone think his court vision isn’t that good. I think its fine not sure what everyones looking for some passes between peoples legs or a no look over the shoulder.
Hes had bad finishers his first year and players who like to go iso BG-Salmons and another point playing along side him.
I’m just not too sure court vision is as easily evaluated like that at least putting it up against other PGs. Hes a guy who just wants his teammates to be able to do their own thing and so hes not as hands on as some other players.

Anyway its good for Rose to have a rival like this who he’ll get to face 4 times a year. It can only help him develop as a player I think Jennings is going to be the best thing that happened to Rose. (basketball related)

I think Rose doesn't seem to have a good court vision

because he tries to be safe and keep the number of turnovers down, and we never seen he
 had those highlight telepathic passes.

and hes never thrown an alley-oop.

But the best play to get an alley-oop on is the pick and roll. Which vdn apparently has some kind of allergic reaction to. Pick and pop for an 18 footer? He loves that ish.

rose has good court vision

better than alot of point guards, but i think people just expect him to see the court like a magic johnson, steve nash, or chris paul…jennings i dont think is that good either, jennings has impressed less with his passing and more with his ability to score…

im basing this on what i see

look at the passes jennings makes.
and where hes looking at all times.

Count me as one of the guys that thinks(thought) Derrick has poor court vision.

As I thought about it recently, I came to the conclusion that I can’t (effectively) judge Derrick’s passing, and even overall package, until a real coach comes in here. This offense is either 1)Isolation heavy or 2)run through the center at the high post. Derrick doesn’t get top roam much and create for others, and even when he does most of the time his teammates stand around watching. Hopefully, when Tyrus returns Derrick will begin to make help defenders pay with some lob passes.

he's not a bad passer but he's not great either.

I really thought he would be better.

The stupidity of this city from the politics to the sports teams is at an all time high. In order for change it might take people dying.. look at the Blackhawks.

He showed some glimpses in the Boston series,

where he was a bit more willing with lob passes and found baseline cutters a little better, specifically that gorgeous wrap around pass to Tyrus.

Rose is passing to brick layers

His assist numbers will go up when we acquire some actual shooters or our current crop starts to see their attempts statistically go in.

whether or not his teammates mkae the shots is irrelevant for an assessment of court vision,

its more about the kinds of passes he makes and how he gets shots for others. looking at that i just dont think rose is that good at it right now. it would be nice to see him keep his dribble alive in the paint more to draw defenders to him and open things up for others.

i agree with this point

im not looking at numbers when im making the point that jennings is a better point guard.
im looking at the passes each is making and how they are monitoring the court at all times.
rose always seemed like a scoring hybrid point guard to me which is why im baffled at his low point production this year

Uh he was hurt and out of shape?

I really question how many people on this blog even played rec-league basketball. Right now I think I only played about 10 times this year and I have a decent J. I bet my J sucks right now as a direct result of me not playing duh?
