Loved that

But seriously, lets get the Tyrus-for-Boozer thing done already.

Think Tyrus+James is enough?

Problem is that Bulls can only take a million or so extra back in salary to stay under tax limit. I don’t think they’d feel confident in taking on salary now and doing another deal at the deadline.

Are they even really looking for good compensation for him though?

I thought that any deal for him would be more for financial relief rather thatn getting actual talent in return

wouldn't a two for one deal put them under the required 13 players? so they'd have to sign someone

which would then put them over.

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

if that link also didnt work...

i just wanted to show that espn trade machine accepted it….and we could always just sign some no name to a league min 1 year contract….a second helping of byars?

i don't think espn trade machine

would reject on the basis of the bulls only having 12 players or whatever, but then it does require us to sign another, and depending on how much room we have, how much we can spend to sign that person, etc.

we save a little more 200k

just on the deal alone, the luxary tax starts at 69.92 million

http://www.shamsports.com/content/pages/data/salaries/bulls.jsp

that shows how much the bulls are paying in salar at the moment, it looks like they have almost a million dollars in wiggle room after they do my proposed trade, in which case to sign a guy for the league min (which is like 492k or something) they would have the room to do so….

I think im looking at this right

Asked what kind of player he expects to be in the next five years, he said: "Not a star, but like, a superstar. Something around, like, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, something like that."

Korver can be that 3point shooter that the Bulls need so much

Jannero Pargo = Larry Hughes 2.0

by bull83 on Nov 4, 2009 6:54 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

yea

i think salmons will eventually come out of his shooting slump, and korver sucks at pretty much everything else, but he is definetly a good 3 pt shooter, and is an okay defender, he would be a far better option than pargo….also id like to somehow pull off a trade that can send pargo to ny for jordan hill but thats never happening…

Jazz fans were booing

Boozer 2 minutes into the game. He’s not going to be back for sure. The Jazz will need to take what they can get unless they just value the money after the year.

Is this business of Boozer being bosum-buddies with Wade correct?

If so…

i am starting

to think this trade is going to happen more and more for the following reasons:

1. Even when “not sick” Tyrus hasn’t been getting the playing time
2. Taj has proven he can be a reliable backup PF
3. Tyrus wasn’t re-signed/extended which makes him more tradeable
4. There isn’t good relationship with tyrus/Bulls
5. Boozer is obviously on the outs in Utah
6. He has played poorly this season so far in their system

The only thing i’m skeptical about is trading tyrus + expiring contracts for Boozer cause at the end of the day; utah won’t win at that trade unless they can somehow be convinced Tyrus would stay. Which is why I like the trade idea posted about Salmons going along in the trade. I like salmons but don’t see him as the answer for the bulls. The bulls need to either build around Rose or trade players in order to go after some big time FA’s (which means hopefully resigning Boozer and getting wade or joe johnson). To build around rose the bulls need: shooters (korver) and good pick and roll big men who can hit a jumper (Boozer). I really like how hinrich has been playing and what type of defender he is. If the bulls are really going to BUILD AROUND rose i think they should keep him. either way; i want to see the bulls make this trade!

TT is a restricted free agent,

so Utah could match any offer.

The only thing i’m skeptical about is trading tyrus + expiring contracts for Boozer cause at the end of the day; utah won’t win at that trade unless they can somehow be convinced Tyrus would stay.

on the boozer for tyrus trade

i think ultimately the bulls get the worst end of it, the bulls get boozer who is as much at risk to injury as deng and is also on the decline of his career…while utah gets tyrus who they can actually develop. Utah would be looking for the best offer (even if they are ready to trade him for anything). The trade i keep mentioning (every chance i get) would work except we would need to sign someone to a league min contract, which shouldnt be that hard actually, i think we could also take the jazz’s NY pick, and to sweeten the deal id hand them next years #1 pick (making 2010 free agency more important for us)…then we have two picks going into this years draft, im not talking john wall or anything, but im sure we can use all the assets we can get….

by piccolomair on Nov 4, 2009 6:56 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

But Utah probably wouldn't want to keep Tyrus anyways as they're over the luxury tax threshold

and Tyrus definitely is not a Jerry Sloan kind of guy. Just keep in mind all the slobbering comparisons Sam Smith used to make between Sloan and Skiles. All this deal would be is a swap of disgruntled power forwards on the last year of their contracts. Though, Sloan loves big line ups, so he’d probably slide Tyrus to the 3.

i'm sick

of draft picks!!! I want some veteran all star players on this team. Its getting old waiting for these draft choices to turn into stars. I mean c’mon, james johnson isn’t getting any playing time. There are players like sheldon williams who was the #5 pick. Atlanta realized quick he sucked and traded him.

Not at all

he’s an unrestricted FA after this year.

by Rose Colored Goggles on Nov 5, 2009 6:08 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

the other benefit

of trading for boozer is to entice wade. Think of him joining this lineup:
PG: Rose
SG ?
SF: Deng
PF: Boozer (resign for 10 mil)
C: Noah
Bench: Hinrich, Gibson, Brad Miller (resign to MLE)

Given this lineup and resigning miller/boozer, the bulls should still have 17-20 mil to offer Wade. With this lineup why wouldn’t he join the bulls to contend for a title? obviously the knicks will suck so it all depends on how the Heat do this year and who they can sign to keep him interested.

by K_yle33 on Nov 4, 2009 8:52 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

To keep Booz

you would have to start at 12 milli a year at least. That means we trade Kirk for a can of tuna lol. Blake and Outlaw anyone?

Homecoming

by illwill on Nov 5, 2009 1:10 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Your numbers are a little off

we’re going to be looking at about 5 million of cap room if we resign Boozer for 10-12 million. Unless we can unload Hinrich or Deng, our cap room is going to be somewhere in the 14-16 million range (assuming Salmons opts out).

That lineup would smoke Miami any day of the week.

Wade would think " If you can’t beat em, join em". He and Rose would be called the best backcourt of all time and go down as legends in Chicago.

Rose has a long ways to go still

And there’s some pretty heavy competition for that duo, if it did happen, from West-Goodrich, Frazier-Monroe, Thomas-Dumars, Porter-Drexler, Stockton-Hornacek

i like the chances

rose will surpass goodrich, monroe, dumars, porter and hornecek. and wade is as good as the lead superstars of those pairings, yes?

but boozer should be avoided at any cost.

Granger?
On October 31, 2008, Granger and the Pacers agreed on a 5-year contract extension.13 The contract pays him $9,930,500 starting in 2009–2010 and escalates ten percent each year, ending after the 2013–2014 season.

Hinrich and Salmons for Bosh
