And another one gone . . .

Could VDN possibly be next?

Is the media even talking about firing VDN?

I haven’t seen a single article even considering it. Not sure why that is.

his best performance (I guess) was on national TV in the playoffs

most writers couldn’t care to watch a Bulls-Jazz Thanksgiving night game where VDN trots out a Miller-Gray frontcourt.

Another quality canididate out there for next season

Coach fatigue got him fired, his team wasn’t favored in any of the 16 losses because they’re beyond terrible (and injured), and he was the longest-tenured coach in the East. Doesn’t mean he all of a sudden became a bad coach.

He does have the ‘coachy’ handicap of playing crappy vets, as does Byron Scott. We don’t really have crappy vets to play though, I don’t think any coach would consider Hunter a ‘vet’ as much as a mummified bench warmer.

and the young players he's held back

…Sean Williams? Not much to work with.

Scott looks much worse for DNP’ing Collison and Thorton this season.

Frank would be a great choice for the Bulls in my opinion.

Devin Harris exploded under him and I’m pretty sure I read that Frank re-designed their entire playbook, building it completely around Harris. I’d love to bring that offense in for Rose, since it appears they only thing Vinny has ever done for the kid is yell “Derrick, attack!!!” and repeatedly call ISOs and high screen and rolls. Frank would definitely be a huge upgrade over our favorite Italian.

Hire Frank, Fire Vinny.

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

HAHA i did the same thing.

Yeah after I read that every time I look on this blog I think it says that now.

Not a bad option IMO

But could be plenty more when it’s all said and done

Meh...

Good coach with bad talent…too bad he is getting fired for his Kiki’s handling of the roster (err…2010 plan)

Thomas, Miller, Salmons, James, Pargo, Gray, MLE, and LLE will not be here with a Max Free Agent...don't get too attached.

Nets still haven't decide on the interim

Is there any way we could trade VDN for Frank?

I like Frank.

If they don't get a max or even really good player next year....

…they would suck soooo bad again, and I would not want to be the head of that ship. OTOH, if they did pull off an LBJ + Bosh addition, they would have a chance to be awesome.

Do they need "a Bosh" if they have Lopez?

LBJ + Devin Harris + Lopez looks like a great core to me.

Plus they have new owners that are likely to dump the entire management as they were all hires of the Ratner era.

12/31: Fire Vinny Del Negro.

by NBA Observer on Nov 30, 2009 10:38 AM CST up reply actions

Good players are better to have than not good players.

Bosh isn’t exactly a banger and Lopez isn’t exactly the quickest defender.

Yes, having Bosh instead of…, instead of……, instead of….. Eduardo Najera is way better.

My core looks better than your core.

So yes. They do.

**The Bulls have Derrick Rose. They don’t need Ben Gordon. They’re both guards. Weeeeeeee…

Bosh would be replacing Yi Jianlian.

:)

I support the Tornado Release ... and Young Bucks.

Del Harris is the assistant coach now?

Didn’t he JUST retire from coaching the Bulls?

by Option27 on Nov 30, 2009 6:28 PM CST reply actions

Apparently he was retired last season too, and just never told the Bulls

Hey, a paycheck’s a paycheck. I’m surprised the Nets could even afford to hire a veteran assistant.
