New Rose is an Old Andre Miller
Player A: 33 MIN, .456 FG%, .000 3P%, .811 FT%, 1.0 STL, .4 BLK, 2.9 TO, 3.0 RB, 5.3 AST, 15.1 PTS
Player B: 36 MIN, .473 FG%, .283 3P%, .826 FT%, 1.3 STL, .2 BLK, 2.3 TO, 4.5 RB, 6.5 AST, 16.3 PTS
Player A is 2009 Derrick Rose.
Player B is 2008 Andre Miller.
Derrick at 90% is less productive than an old Andre Miller; he is just not making a large positive contribution. Sit him down until he is completely healthy; split his minutes between Kirk, Salmons, and Pargo; and wait for him to recover completely. If he plays like this the rest of the year, no good free agent is coming here no matter how many games the Bulls win. And they won't win that many.

pretty decent dunk on oden last night...
Nick Friedell: What's the biggest difference for you right now, compared to when you entered the league two years ago?
Joakim Noah: I would say eating breakfast.
We knew this would be a possibility
Parker, Devin Harris, Marbury, they all play like Rose and had a slump season early on. Thankfully there’s a bunch of point guards who blossomed late (Billups, Nash, Parker, Harris). I think we’re fine. It’s this VDN guy I’m more worried about.

God, I hope that 3rd year was optional.

Yeah because no coaches in the NBA ever get fired before their contracts are up
Oh wait, some franchises care about winning to a certain degree and not just profit margin. I mean, I’m sure money matters to every team — it’s just that certain teams like to keep their fans happy.
Maybe it’s our fault; if we stopped watching and going to games and buying merchandise when the product wasn’t satisfactory, JR would be forced to try to actually win games.

I'm pretty sure it is.
But it’s such a cheap option, why pay for a better coach!
I wonder how much VDN hurts the 2010 recruitment. I suppose there are worse things for a superstar than seeing a players coach who also can be an obvious patsy for you to fire.

be patient. Some point guards blossom late. Parker and Harris are obvious comparisons because both are penetrators and neither could shoot when they entered the league. They started off fast but were soon slowed down as defenses adjusted. Rose will get it going again.

Rose is fine.
If we weren’t playing Taj, Miller and Hinrich there wouldn’t be so many double teams.

really..
we are 13 games in and your already making assumptions nice.
Well...
He is also averaging nearly what Miller did in his early seasons as well…and Miller had a season where he averaged 17 and 11. This is just a random statistical comparison that has no value.

Part of this is Rose and the rest is his shitty teammates. Rose is easily missing out on 3-4 assists a game because Kirk and John are bricking every shot and Taj is busy fumbling every interior pass he gets.
Also with no one able to hit a shot, the defense is free to just sit in the lane which blocks the penetration that BG helped him get last year because teams had to respect his shot. No one respects Kirk or Salmons so Rose is seeing many more double teams and lanes filled with players.
All this criticism is getting a little over the top, sometimes new players do great their first year, teams adjust to them and they have to re-learn strategy to improve. Hell Carmelo had a pretty subpar year as a 5th year player and this year he’s bounced back to be a legit MVP candidate
Point is, people need to calm down on the raggin on D Rose.
Hate to ruin the holiday for some you...
But this just in, AI is announcing his retirement today…and wade put out a comment saying he would love to play with a Big Man in the middle, like D Howard. So for all of you crossing your fingers and hoping to see AI or wade in a bulls uni, hate to burst your bubble, but since we dont have a big man that wade is referring to, chances are we will not be a team in the running for him. Oh well, mediocrity here we are!!

Nice.
Andre Miller is great and has been terribly underrated his whole career. If Rose is already as good as one of the top ten PG’s in the last decade then the Bulls should be in pretty good shape.

Yeah, seriously.
I was a bit confused by the point of this myself.
I support the Tornado Release ... and Young Bucks.
