Thorpe's New Sophomore Rankings: Rose #19
Thorpe goes so far as to say that he expects Rose to be much higher by the end of the season, but based on production thus far, he's #19, with Beasley directly behind him at #20.
Marc Gasol took top honors.

Hibbert is ahead of Rose..
and rightfully so. Looking at the top 20 only Beasley has been a bigger disappointment than Rose.

Fuckin Thorpe LOVES Marc Gasol. He ranked him super high last year in the Rookie Rankings too.

2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

look at Gasol's numbers vs. Noah's
it’s pretty hard to deny what he’s doing

Yeah, I went and checked it out after. He's been pretty great so far. The Gasol for Gasol swap
doesn’t look nearly so bad for the Grizzlies now, especially since they have no $ being a small market team. They could have done worse in that deal.

I think Thorpe's pushing it to rank Hickson, Ilyasova, Greene and Gallinari ahead of Rose
he must be basing that on “surpassing expectations” or something.
But Thorpe has been on Gasol and Westbrook’s dicks since day one. I mean, these ratings are pushing it a little bit. JJ Hickson is averaging 7 ppg and 2 rpg — and he’s ranked about Rose?!
Rose has been disappointing, and at times outright bad; but looking at it objectively he should be ranked in the top 12 of this list.

Thorpe's method of analysis
usually involves looking at a player’s PER and than ranking them accordingly. I was a big fan, but I’ve been down on him lately. His analysis seems pretty shallow.
Rudy Fernandez is averaging 8 pts off the bench in 22 minutes. Ilyasova is averaging just under 10 pts on 42% shooting. George Hill is averaging 13 pts and 2 assists on 42% shooting.
Ranking Beasley and Rose 19 and 20 was based on pure shock value.

I'll admit I haven't watched him play
and I was a huge fan of him in college…. but if lopez was worth anything at all… wouldn’t the nets have won a game?
