"Coach is trying to put it on me that in some games I'm going to have to guard Kobe (Bryant) or LeBron (James) for some possessions," Rose said. "I would love to, and if I get the opportunity I'm going to try my hardest to guard them."

Some good quotes:

Learning to defend NBA opponents isn’t easy to accomplish during the summer. But Rose said he spent plenty of time chasing his personal trainer up and down the court to get his footwork down.
Rose also hopes being in better condition this year will help him defensively. Last year I was a little more exhausted (during camp). But I guess the more you go through training camp, you just learn how to get your rest.

I’m glad Rose’s D has been a focus.

I'd kind of like to see Thomas guard those guys.

I think he more than has the tools necessary, and I think it could better get him focused.

I get the feeling the Bulls are anticipating having Kirk and Derrick play together a lot

otherwise, this doesn’t make much sense. Obviously I get that they aren’t talking about guarding 2s and 3s full-time, but in a normal lineup, I would think Salmons and Deng could handle those responsibilities.

I would be more concerned about Rose guarding point guards.

I think it should be the other way around.

Guarding Rose is more of a challenge than guarding bryant or james.
