"I feel like we have a great group of guys that care about winning," Deng said. "I've said it before, but I couldn't really say that the last few years."

it doesn't just have to be about Gordon

Hughes, Gooden, Wallace – there have been other guys who haven’t been team first.

…and your link isn’t working

Fixed.

Also, that’s true. I hope he was talking about Wallace. I’d prefer he hadn’t said anything like that at all, though. Especially with the much discussed departure of Gordon, it just seems like an unnecessary shot at BG, even if it’s meant for one or more of those other guys.

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

I hope it wasn't about Gordon either.

Even if he believes it, it is unnecessary. Plus, Gordon seems like a guy who writes this stuff in his mirror and dreams about crushing the Bulls. Gordon would never admit it, but he is going to try to go for 50 each time he plays us. No reason to add fuel to the fire.

Plus, Deng has been hurt / sucky so much in the past he really doesn’t have a lot of room to complain. Sorry the team was playing selfishly Deng, when you were sitting on the bench in street clothes…

He doesn't have a lot of room to complain, no,

but maybe it did get annoying having the guy who didn’t get the contract having the better year than you and the media constantly questioning your own paycheck. Now he can believe he is the best guy and is justified cashing his check (do they pay out every two weeks in the NBA?). Once again I am getting annoyed at him making any reference to a year where he was a non-contributor for most of it. Most of the guys who played did the best they could with what was going on. If the team needs a spokesperson maybe it should be Rose or Noah.

Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

I think we spend more time thinking about that stuff than they do. I'd chalk it up to

1. No major contract issues of any kind to think about. And that includes Luol thinking about the pressure of playing under his own contract last year and trying to get it the year before that. So to me this statement could in some ways be a self-indictment.
2. Um… Larry Hughes!
3. I’ve already heard a couple articles about Nocioni grating on guys in Sacramento.
4. Noah’s near miraculous turnaround from complete a fuckup at this time last year to dedicated and hard working.

I don't like him taking swipes at BG

But I’m happy Deng is doing stuff like this.

Deng is being more vocal, being more of leader. This is a good thing. Especially given that complete lack of leadership since Skiles through in the towel.

We need someone to hold the mantal until Noah and/or Rose are ready to take it from him.

I’m just glad Hunter isn’t the one dishing out quotes like this.

I'd wait a little bit before declaring the new 'hands-around-the-world' era

we won’t know until the losses happen how funsy this team really is.

I would venture to guess this wasn't about Ben.

I don’t think Deng is going to be taking too many shots at Ben. One, it is idiotic, because Ben is a far superior player, so once Ben continually out performs Deng, it will come back to bite Deng in the ass.

And two, Ben is key to Deng’s Great Britain team doing anything of note in the Olympics.

I’d take this as being a shot at Hughes, Gooden, Wallace, etc, and not the guy Deng entered the NBA with.

I think it's about BG.

I've got this thing and it's fucking golden!

for once i agree with andrew

and don’t think it’s about BG.

especially the way he said “i’ve said it before” and since BG has always been on the team with him until now, i think he’s including more recent acquisitions who we’ve since let go.

"They should. They better. I'm Vinny Del Negro!"
