i would hate to be in the studio with him...
every time he gets a chance to speak (which is every 30 seconds), he just repeats the same 2 or 3 ideas over and over again just in different words

yet they all clear the floor and let barkley repeat himself for 2 minutes uninterrupted every time they go to the studio

decent first half of ball
i coulda swore i saw an alley oop to hinrich in the 2nd quarter!
rj and his bald head seems to have the refs confused. he’s getting away with all bowen’s crap, grabbing and pulling on deng, especially.
favorite moment of favoritism: rose goes up on a parker make, they call a phantom foul for three point play, and collins is just prattling on and on and on about god knows what meaningless cliché he’s already stated a thousand times before. meanwhile, the director in the truck is showing it (blown call) over and over, but there’s no comment from the announcers, other than the same old bs about how great spurs/duncan/pop are.
and people wanted this guy to coach! he was a worse coach than he is a commentator people! every time he does a game, i want someone to please end my misery. by any means necessary!
the name of the team is The DIAMONDBACKS
That replay was hilarious - no contact - three replays -
and the announcers don’t even mention it.
Fan-tastic.

I'd still take Collins announcing a game over most of the other hacks

Well he's one of 2 players

Before he got benched.
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.
he had great stretches...
but I guess I am picturing a more impactful taking over a game than playing really really well for stretches…I’m not trying to agitate anything just don’t think he is there yet..
When your game
change the course of the final minutes of the 4th quarter or OT (Like Tyrus’ jumpers did) it should count IMO.
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.
well,
I am excited to actually see Tyrus on the court at that time all season now! He did have a huge impact on those games with those jumpers against the Celtics-I wish VDN would say exactly why he benched him during that series..
hitting open jumpers is what an NBA player is supposed to do.
at no point ever will i consider that an ability to “take over a game”. shit, if that’s the case, i’ve seen Roger Mason and Matt Bonner “take over” dozens of games
by Daniel Satan on Oct 29, 2009 9:13 PM CDT up reply actions
so you're one of those guys who thinks...
that Noah should hit 99% from the FT line because he is an NBA player and that is his job? Those jumpers tyrus hit were not “typical” jumpers, they were tough, contested, playoff jumpers..that being said I also don’t think that is considered taking over a game..
I loved that shot, but Deng has to learn to take one step back and take the three
He was open

I missed the first quarter – anything crazy happen then? From what I’ve seen:
(1) D-Rose, Salmons, and Deng shooting a bunch of jumpers
(2) Joakim being Joakim (this is a really damn good thing)
(3) Tyrus being awesome in the 3rd quarter.
Anything else?

Thanks for the update
I saw the small lineup, which I don’t have a problem with in stretches (so long as it doesn’t result in a drastic result in Tyrus’s minutes).
I’ll be interested to see how the big lineup performs. I’m skeptical.

Derrick is not even the main story tonight.
Who knew the Bulls would have such a strong defense?

Everyone but Salmons is having a good game.
Noah has a double double.
Tyrus is our leading scorer.
Kirk hit a buzzer beater 3.
Rose has been flying by Parker.
Deng looks like he has a pulse.
Taj has been on the court (so I’ve been told).
JJ hasn’t played.
Salmons can’t hit anything tonight. Though he is still shooting away…

From a communication standpoint, what's TT to make of this?
- He doesn’t get to start games from any sort of entitlement purpose (the way Salmons gets to keep playing right now)
- He plays awesome to help propel us to a big lead … and he still doesn’t get to play.
How is he supposed to translate this? How is this supposed to motivate him? What, exactly, is expected of him?

Vinny is a clown. Tyrus gets you the lead and you pull him early in the 4th but leave in a guy who is trying to shoot you out of the game. He has no clue about player psychology. You reward players for good play, don’t jerk them around.

doesn’t move very well does he? He does seem to be a really solid defensive Center though. If he ever develops anything resembling offensive skill, he’ll be a dominant big man in this league.

A win differential of +7
A deep bench
Ball movement
Excellant hustle
Working together
The list goes on.
Four Factors Analysis from the Game
Eff eFG FT/FG OREB% TOr
San Antonio 94.4 44.9% 19.2 17.8 14.4
Chicago 102.2 43.5% 22.6 29.4 10.0
Bulls dominated the glass, got to the line more, and turned it over on just 10% of their possessions. They were more or less even on shooting the ball. Spurs shot it a little better, but not much. Pretty dominant performance in terms of the Four Factors. 102.2 points per 100 possessions for the Bulls (not great, below league average last year), but allowing just 94.4 points per 100 possessions which would have been good for the best mark in the league last year by a WIDE margin.
