Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Isn't Up To Speed On Jeremy Lin, 'Linning'

[Congrats to Derrick Byars. Bulls will undoubtedly keep that last roster spot open -ed.]

Mr. Insignificant has a non-guaranteed contract...and as a bonus he wears #7 and is tall...how will Vinny remember which Derrick's name he is calling?

What's up with these Vanderbilt athletes?

First, the Bears bring in Jay Culter, Earl Bennett and Chris Williams, now the Bulls keep Derrick Byars!

Thoughts on a Will Perdue comeback?

I'd love to have him on radio or TV.

I think he does a good job on the radio.

Dude

that’s my favorite quote ever. I don’t know why Stacey gets so much hate, I find him enjoyable to listen to. No, he’s not Doug Collins or Hubie Brown (i.e. you’re not going to get smarter listening to him) but I think he makes it entertaining.

Now, Neil Funk on the other hand… Let’s just say he’s no Tommy Dore.

I don't think Vinny's going to have a problem with keeping the two Derrick's straight

After all, he’s Italian, and as we learned from Goodfellas, Italians only have 5 different first names to use when naming their children.

Maybe Vinny will start calling one of them Dirk instead of Derrick.

Loved Byars during the pre season.

I was rooting for him to make the team even though everyone kept saying it was impossible due to financial issues. Whatever, glad he made it, hope he turns out in the regular season as well. I like his size and his ability to play multiple roles. By far worth keeping over Pargo and Hunter….

We have three very good rookies on the team.

The Bulls have set themselves up very nicely for 2010 or trades mid season.

by Bart71 on Oct 27, 2009 4:39 PM CDT reply actions

The only value Byars would have is in his non-guaranteed contract if they need 100k to finish off a trade

It’s not likely he’s still around after his contract becomes fully guaranteed. Plus, I doubt Johnson or Gibson will have much value unless they get heavy minutes and perform reasonably well.
