Tyrus Thomas Is A Starter (nice comparison with Aldridge and Bargnani)
The stats guys should take a look at this. But if this is true, Tyrus should be really pissed if he doesn’t starts and plays more minutes

Deng signing may again prove to be fatal
resulting in the loss of another player who will eventually prove to be a better durable productive player in the nba..
coupled with the lack of trading kirk, and the organizations continued orgy with them both…

Interesting stuff
but I’m not sure it’s really telling us anything we don’t already know. Yes, Tyrus has the potential to be every bit as good as those other two guys; yet, it’s not the raw stats that frustrates people (in my opinion).
It’s the poor decision-making with the ball (i.e. too much dribbling, jump-shooting, turnovers) rather than his skill-set. His production hasn’t been bad when he’s been given minutes — it’s just that his shot selection and decision making (as well as man-defense and rebounding) that have people concerned.
I don’t think having better per-minute rebound numbers than LMA or Bargnani is a bragging point. Bargnani hangs out around the 3-point line and LMA is a mid-range jump shooter who happens to play with 2 of the better rebounders in the game in Joel Pryzbilla and Greg Oden.
Just sayin.
