Ric Bucher picks Rose for...MVP?! (Insider)
From ESPN The Magazine's NBA Preview -- there's no text of Bucher justifying his decision, so there's no knowing his reasoning (at least for now). Also, Tim Legler picks Joakim Noah for Most Improved Player.

Maybe he meant Most Improved Player?
I mean, I love Derrick and all, but ROY to MVP is a pretty impossible leap. Isn’t it?

You'd think so...
But he picked Kevin Durant for MIP (and Blake Griffin for ROY). Maybe he got Rose and Durrant mixed up? I’m with you — I have a man-crush on D-Rose, but seriously, MVP?

It really looks to me like someone
switched Rose and Durant. He also picked Oklahoma as the surprise team, which would be in line with a dominant performance from Durant.

If Rose gets MVP, the Bulls are contending for the championship...

Agreed, but I think that makes more sense the other way around
as in, “if the Bulls are contending for the championship, Rose gets MVP.”
Of course, the chances of that happening are slim to none.

Are we even considered one of the top 5-6 teams in the league?
This “contending” thing is thrown around way too much. If the Bulls are contending then pretty much any team in the league is in which case why bother making the distinction anyway.
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

2 reasons 4 my DRose/MVP predict: planting my flag of belief in Rose + usual slate (LeBron, Kobe, Wade…) is 2 easy. I know it’s a stretch.
