Scoop Jackson's Take on the Bulls
At least I really put absolutely no stock into Scoop Jackson's actual analysis of really any team. He sounds like a Ben Gordon fan that is still pouting that he is gone. I will be honest I stopped reading after he said that Joakim Noah is primed for a "mini-Danny Granger type season."

Scoop Jackson is one of the worst god damned writers out there.
1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

I don't mind Scoop's BG love; it's his complete destruction of the English language
and stupid catch phrases For example, he referred to crunch time as “when the time gets Nestle”… really? Seriously, Scoop? When the time gets Nestle?
He’s just a terrible writer and he has been for years.

Agreed,
I don’t mind his BG love, I loved BG too..but it does get annoying when people think we are going to tank with the loss of him. I guess it is as valid an opinion as any until proven otherwise…just think there should be A LOT more substance in there

yes, I got that part of it. I was just stating that I didn't mind that he loves him some BG.
Especially given that I wanted BG to stick around.

"and having Jannero Pargo come off the bench will be huge"
Hugely bad I hope you mean.
About the BG/4th quarter thing. Looking at the team as it is constructed now it seems like it will have to be either Rose and/or Salmons doing heroics this year. They might not be very good at it, but those two guys will at least attempt it and not shift into hot potato mode. If Pargo is in at the end of games we’ve already bent over and kissed our asses goodbye. I do not want to see him on the floor. That would mean either Rose or Salmons are on the bench then and we need both of them on the floor over “Pargo Time”. Heck, even if we went with a three guard lineup I’d rather that be Rose/Kirk/Salmons than anything involving Pargo.
Everything I post is speculation. I have no insider information nor ideas deemed concrete enough by those who are self-elected to regulate post content.

And it's not as if Pargo was ever the 'closer'
he was the guy put in after you were already down 13 with 4 to play.

Hey, now - we've got 3 options!
Kirk’s scored more clutch points since BG left than the entire 5 years he was here – clearly Ben was just holding back Kirk’s clutchness. In fact, I bet Kirk intentionally missed those shots so Ben could feel good about himself. ;)
In honor of the dearly departed, I declare July PB&J month - everyone raise a sandwich to the memory of Ben!

As long as he isn't driving in for a potential game winning layup I suppose.

I don’t see any clear bias in this. BG did win games for us or was a big contributer in most. I don’t think he was suggesting we’d be a bum team just we’d be on a different level or heading to contender status sooner if they had kept him. A lot of games are determined by who can keep it together late after all.
Also the Granger comment didn’t seem bad to me I thought he was referencing how Granger improves each year at least in scoring I think hes went up 5 points each year.

"Contender or pretender"
I don’t think that’s the question to ask this year when we’ve just had a 300+ post discussion on “Taj or Tyrus”. I wish we were even in a pretender status. Scoop Jackson cares more about sounding poetic than making any basketball points.

Yeah really.
The question of this season is playoffs or no playoffs. We will probably finish somewhere in the 35-45 win range…I think 10th seed is probably our bottom out point, and 5th seed will be our high point.
The Bulls aren’t contenders, I can tell Scoop that now. They won’t be in April either.

eh...
thats true barring any trade….who knows…boozer, bosh, hell maybe even amare…those guys are still likely to opt out and any smart team would at least want something in return (this just in, the bulls arent a smart team…)
