Rich man's Joe Smith gets 65 million in a recession, while the Bulls will likely lose lottery picks in back-to-back summers.

If Aldridge was a poor man's Chris Bosh he'd be able to find the FT line without the GPS

telling him where to turn. He’d also be able to find a defensive rebound or two that didn’t fall in his lap.

Taller, better David West.

I don’t even think he’s overpaid, since most players are overvalued. Just pointing out how LMA’s summer of “discontent” ended like it should for both him and the organization.

The 2009 White Sox....like a 40 degree day.

Taj's upside basically is a poor man's Aldridge.

Really long and skinny, but can’t jump. Strong offensive rebounder, but can’t defensive rebound worth a lick. High release point on his jumper. The problem is that Aldridge never turns the ball over, and unfortunately Taj needs stickum to catch the ball.

The Bulls are taking a do-over?

At least they got a guy who was the right age.

People should remember that while they have the right to their opinion, they are not entitled to be taken seriously. --Bruce Bartlett

more or less the deal deng got

(minus a year)

who would you rather have?

i'm hot for teacher

by DLRoth on Oct 22, 2009 3:34 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

nah, it's not that much more

but it’s at least 1 mil per year more. a 6 year equivalent deal would have been at least 78$mil. and 8 mil dollars more than what deng was offered for a 5 year extension.

except not really

isn’t deng’s contract worth up to $80mil? still not same per year as $70mil/5 which is what aldridge’s with incentives are.

Aldridge is a wealthy man’s Joe Smith without the D or rebounding skills. Great face up jumpshooter, poor defender and rebounder. Soft. Moody. He’s good but I don’t think he’s worth 65 mill….

I love bloated contracts!

Marcus Aldridge is a poor man’s Taj! He’ll be so competent that the Bulls will have to be him 50% more than Ald’s contract!

Stevesy

Also, LaMarcus’ money should’ve been given to Steve Blake for A.) his unfathomable basketball IQ, B.) concrete fundamentals and C.) his overall grinderism.
