Around SBN: Bracketology 2012: Duke Finally Steps Up To The No. 1 Line

It's easy to forget the Bobcats were one of the league's hottest teams in March last year. After starting 22-35, they went 12-5 to move to 1 GB the Bulls for the 8th playoff spot before tanking.

Bell's injury means 35.6mpg has to be relocated (probably to Felton and Gerald Henderson). Bulls playoff chances improve by a couple ticks.

maybe its just me

i always wanted to do a raja bell trade for salmons, if nothing more for salary purposes. Salmons is the better player of course, and im not sure of rajas ’tude, but he is a legit 2 guard, good length, decent defender and shooter from beyond the arch, and is used to the pg penetrate and kik out offense. His contract is also just a small 1 year one…however i guess all that is moot now huh…

On Behalf of Sue, Wjb, majoyenrac, Bullshooter and all the other Hinrich fans...Ill keep the Hinrich Hope coming...There will be light!

Sweet. I drafted Henderson on my XO Hoops fantasy team,

Although it’s not as sweet as if it was a normal fantasy league, instead of the one based on advanced statistics.

Bulls playoffs chances already went up a couple ticks

When they traded Emeka for Tyson. This just allows Milwaukee/Indiana to leapfrog over Charlotte in the standings.

I really don’t think losing Raja is going make any kind of real difference for ours or Charlotte’s playoff hopes. Raja is coasting on his rep, he hasn’t been a high level defender in a while and has lost more than a step. They’re better off just throwing Henderson into the fire.

The thing people always miss with this type of stuff is it's not the drop off between Raja

and Henderson that really matters (though that will likely be pretty important, too), but it’s the drop off between playing Henderson as a backup and playing Henderson’s backup in what should have been Henderson’s role. Those minutes count, and the Bobcats will suffer during them.

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

Well, we're optimistic about Henderson, but he's yet to play a meaningful minute in the league

I’d guess they’ll sop up the extra minutes with Raymond Felton too, so really, I don’t know that the Bobcats are missing out on that much if Henderson turns out to be good.

Unfortunately, I can’t figure out any worthwhile trades

according the the bobcats blog henderson was originally going to be the 3rd string

SG behind bell and flip murry. but since larry brown likes everyone to stay in their roles, and murry is a 6th man, henderson might leap frog him. so the backup will be the same whether bell is injured or not.
