"Hornets 2nd round pick Marcus Thornton is forcing himself into rotation, playing like a first-rounder. He can really shoot the ball."

This is why Thornton was my favorite pick for the Bulls at #26. Coulda had him and DeJuan Blair. Woulda been interesting.

There is almost no pressure on him

The NOH SG position is pretty much open for the taking. Nice to hear about guys working hard to get into rotations.

The Bulls SG position is open for the taking for the long-term.

People should remember that while they have the right to their opinion, they are not entitled to be taken seriously. --Bruce Bartlett

Good for Thornton

I liked that guy at LSU but he would have been a bad fit got the bulls, but hope he does well for the Hornets

Live from NY

i’ve been watching him a lot during the knicks awful preseason games – dantoni is playing him a lot giving him some solid minutes but really I wouldnt look too much into how Toney D is doing in NY.

If it means anything… take a look at Duhons numbers in NY… the type of offense dantoni is running with a bunch of scrubs on that team will inflate most mediocre players numbers

… he will be a better player than lets say renaldo balkman..and maybe he will develop into something nice..but nothing to really boast about at this point..

having said that… i bet you Toney D scores 28 on the bulls and is nba all rookie 1st team

Took a quick look at his box scores

from the preseason: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/marcus_thornton/index.html

He hasn’t been more impressive than Taj: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/taj_gibson/game_by_game_stats.html

The season may prove otherwise, but it’s a little early for second guessing.

Those per36 numbers are pretty darn good, especially when you keep in mind that

the Hornets are, every year, one of the slowest paced teams in the league. Per36 minutes, those numbers translate out to 21.6 points, 4.8 rebs, .7 ast, .7 stl, .35 blk, 3.1 TO (this is worrisome, but no more worrisome than Taj’s affinity for fouling)… not too shabby, especially with 40+% 3 pt shooting (which the Bulls desperately need) and certainly more impressive than what Taj has done — Taj has become vastly overrated because he didn’t totally suck like we all expected. He’s been pretty mediocre, in all honesty.

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box
