Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Derrick Rose: This could change within a season or two. As I've written before, I see Rose battling Chris Paul for "best point guard alive" tag soon.

D Rose will never be a #1 talent. He will be awesome…but the last true #1 talent as a PG was Isiah…some people would argue Nash but he never won a title….
He is definitely a strong foundation player. I just don’t see him ever being in the LeBron/Wade/Kobe stratosphere…but few players make it there. He will be a All-star at least 5-6 times in his time in the NBA.

Chris Paul

isn’t a #1 talent? I disagree.

Chris Paul is miles better than Isiah was at the same age. Also, John Stockton was pretty

righteous in his own right, and arguably better than Isiah.

1. Cut a hole in a box
2. Put your Kirk in that box
3. Make some team open that box

Isiah is and will always be better than CP3. Isiah was awesome as a player…he screwed up his legacy by destroying the Knicks and the harassment suit and the botched suicide. But c’mon he was led a marginally talented team full of goons and role players to TWO championships. A guy who was just 6 foot was the centerpiece of a champion. When has that happened?

Stockton was great but he had another HOF with him and couldn’t win.

When Paul wins a championship or makes it to the WCF, then we’ll talk. When he totally screws up his ankle but still finishes a game, scoring 20 in a one half, then we’ll talk.

Paul has crummy teammates but a #1 talent shouldn’t get shut down so easily like Denver did to him. He’s great but not there yet. I’m not drunk on the CP# Koolaid like so many people are.

Derrick Rose will not be a super star. Anybody who thinks he will has rocks in his head

Soccer is for people to small and wussy for real football
Yankees and Red Sox ...buying your way into playoffs every year

Define superstar. He can be a superstar no doubt….but can he be a transcendent talent….that is what’s not certain.

i love these categories. is he a star? a superstar? how about superduperstar? mega-star?

sure-fire HOFer? does he dominate? is he dominant? transcendent? legitimate go-to-guy?
