Bucks Diary's numbers suggest the Bulls would be better off with a different head coach.

Wow...

VDN just got called the f**k out by the media (guess thats not such a rarity lately, huh?). Good find. Disagree with him about Gordon, and the only bench players I would really like to see more minutes for is TT, Noah and Sef. Noc and Hughes need a reduction of minutes if anything.

Looks like the numbers too

were from last season’s debacle of the year in which any statistic given the crap play, in fighting, Wallace quitting on the team and Hinrich’s godawful year, especially early on, and horrible coaching, is a bit ridiculous.

Kirk Hinrich last year was awful and helped make our guards look worse—-even though I do think Kirk was doing too much because our guards/SF (Deng) early on weren’t playing their normal games, so even Kirk was made to look a bit worse than he is…

ALl will bounce back. Deng’s off to a slow start, but was getting it before the real ankle injury. Kirk looked great in the preseason. Ben’s been VERY GOOD.

Wonder what the same guy would see if he did the same calcs for Michael Redd???

hmmm

I was with him up until he called Gordon “wildly overrated”…while managing to post LAST SEASON’S numbers (moron).

He does have a point about Vinny…but why is someone from the Bucks blog worried about OUR coach in the first place?

Bucks Diary crunches numbers for all NBA teams, not just the Bucks

I do think it’s odd to call Gordon overrated, based on the year he’s having. He’s going to get PAID this summer is about all I’ve got to say.

Bucks Diary is not biased against the Bulls, no

but I just don’t like WoW theory. Even this season Gordon’s likely not seen as very valueable, as WoW does not get credit for usage. So if Gordon shoots 8-18 and Thabo shoots 1-2, Thabo had the better night.

Ziller has railed against it several times

Most notably when Berri said Bynum was better than Kobe.

Yeah, any metric should take shot-creation into consideration. Berri’s doesn’t, apparently, which is an issue.

The Bulls would be better off with a coach that isn't Vinny Del Negro?

No way!!!! What a bold statement!!

When I watch NBA games I often call the fouls before the referees do. Sometimes it’s a gift. Most of the time it's troublesome. - NBA Observer

And I can't help but laugh at that dude

for calling Ben Gordon wildly overrated considering, um, Michael Redd is their star player…

He's called Redd out a lot

For instance, in this post at his previous site.

There are more recent examples from his current site, but I can’t find them. The search feature is busted.

Well

his use of statistics is obviously biased and close minded to illustrate the point he feels like making. Yes lets bench BG(current team leader in WS for the ’09 campaign, his apparent stat of choice).

But hey, the Bucks are a much better basketball team right now…

I've read like three stories today saying

VDN is over his head and how its hard to learn on the job as a head coach. True Hoop
