Have you seen ticket prices recently?
I just bought some tickets(13 in a row) for the game against OKC on saturday on stubhub for $10 a piece. If we had figured it out the night before there were 14 tickets available for $8 a piece. There were 3 tickets available for $6 a piece. Wow, I am almost happy that the Bulls are sucking right now. At this rate I will be going to about 5 more games this season. The price wasn't only because it was vs OKC as I saw some for friday night for $8 against the Wizards.
What is the cheapest you have ever bought tickets for?

yeah "nose bleeds"...
i’m not a picky person though especially for $10.
I am also a believer that the more expensive the tickets are the lamer the crowd is in that section. Last game I went to against Utah I snuck into the 100 level for the introductions and start of the game. No one was cheering at all. People were turning and looking because we were apparently making more noise than expected in that section. I have seen the same thing at Sox games though.
I guess that is what happens when your team has commercials promoting games as a good place for business meetings.

I can't see from way up there...
So if you want to buy a $10 just to say you were at the game and watch it on the jumbotron, sure. Not bad. (But parking will cost more!)
I usually can’t see over the person in front of me from the 100’s either. For me it’s 200 level or bust. And the 200 level crowd is usually pretty riled up, at least in my corner.

i will be taking the brown line to the bus..saving some money
and it is a little hard to see, but the jumbotron is great and the experience as a whole is what lures me to games. You don’t get the same kind of excitement sitting at home or even at a sports bar watching games. I will gladly pay $10 to watch it live.

If your going to sit up there I suggest you drink.
It makes walking up those stairs kinda fun.
by ImmanuelKant on Jan 8, 2009 11:14 AM CST reply actions 0 recs
of course i will be drinking...
but im not an obese bastard that can’t walk up 30 steps to my row. You take escalators up to the 300’s and walk to your section. If the steps deter anyone from making it to a game then they have serious problems in their life.

sorry...
i re-read your post and I don’t think you were complaining about the walk. Just stating that the stairs are steep and dangerous.
If I play the Bulls drinking game I would never make it home.

When I was your age...
My dad took me to my first game at the Amphitheater. I believe our tickets were $5 and we sat about four rows behind the Bulls bench. The players actually blocked our view of some of the court.
I went to a Bulls-Lakers playoff game in the early 70’s. We got tickets the day of the game for $6, face value, over an entry way on the first level, end of the court. It was a Sunday afternoon game and not a sell out.

Enjoy the cheap seats while you can
A few years ago I paid $98 for a package of 25 Blazer games. They were supposed to be nosebleed seats, but the box office usually gave us lower level seats just to fill the place up. So basically, we paid less than $4 a pop for seats that were priced at $49 or $75.
What a steal — $98 to watch Roy’s rookie year.

You can sit for $4-6 in the lower bowl in NJ now
They even give up some free tickets, you just pay a processing fee. Same in Minny and Memphis I suppose. But under $10 for Bulls games to see Rose in his rookie season is really not a bad deal.

I wish it was that cheap on the west coast.
I’m going to the Clippers game on the 28th and paid $560 for two tickets four rows from the court. Hopefully it will be worth it, at least I should get some good pictures if nothing else.

i think Bulls tickets that close to the court would be even more than that...
i will look for you though (no homo)
better be wearing some Bulls gear

Tickets are dirt cheap now
I sell tickets to games I can’t go to. I am routinely getting only half of face value for them. There is no interest in these tickets. I had some friends in town and bought center court 100 level seats for $80 a ticket from a broker. When brokers are pitching tickets at a $100 discount off of face value, something is seriously wrong. I’m in a bad spot as I don’t want to watch this team and can’t sell the tickets without losing real money. This is literally wasted money.
I love seeing empty seats at the UC. Tonight there were many empty suites and boxes. One entire 200 level section was 100% vacant. Empties everywhere in the 100 level. I like how they announce attendance over 20,000 every game. Anyone with eyes can see actual attendance is much less.
