How much do you love Noah? (Bulls/Sixers)

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, the Sixers are considering trading André Miller. So, I thought: Why don't the Bulls try to get him? So, I started to think about a trade. And minutes later, voilá:

Bulls send: Hinrich, Noah and Simmons

Sixers send: Miller and Speights

I konw this trade won't clear space on the backcourt, but at least give us a guy that, until the end of the year, can take some minutes from Rose and, since BG is not that tall, Gordon too. Since his contract runs out this season, we could save tons of money that we could use to sign BG. The only thing that concerns me is sending Noah away. Not because of his offensive skills, but because we lose a good defender. But I figure that the Sixers would want more for Millers expiring contract. So, I would include Noah in that deal and try to get Speights in return. He's still learning how to play on the NBA, but has a strong body and is not playing bad coming from the bench.

Here is the comparison between them. I only compared their rookies years, since this is the first year of Speights on the NBA.

This trade could be good to the Sixers because their PG problem for the next years would be solved. And they would get a good prospect to play with Brand and that could learn from Dalembert. I didn't include Dalembert in this deal because of his huge contract, that would kill any 2010 plan that the Bulls might have.

It's just a idea. Feel free to criticize...

I think Sixers would actually be interested in Hinrich-Miller straight up

Hinrich gives them a long term solution at PG who could fit in well enough with their big and small lineups. He won’t be a solution to the shooting problems they have, but it’d be a start.

We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.

ok

his contract. Nahhh you give up Noah and Hinrich? Those good trade chips your wasting.

I'm not sure it's horrible.

Well, if they could do Hinrich for Miller straight-up. What’s Miller expected to get this off-season? If the Bulls don’t like him, maybe they could take on a given-up-on young guy in a sign-and-trade. Or a serviceable big, replacing, but cheaper than, Gooden.

I don’t know. Wouldn’t do it for Noah, though.

Viva la nuance! Reading comprehension rules!!!

Exactly

I’m a litle down on Noah right now. I know that he doesn’t play much because of VDN stupidity, but I was never really a big fan of Noah. I have that strange feeling that, in the future, we will end up like Ben Wallace… So, I prefer losing him and stay with TT…

I think if Philly is interested in this

Then the Bulls need a 3rd team to join the deal. We don’t need Miller, but there are teams that might.

For criticism

Since you say feel free to criticize: I think your title is misleading. I actually thought this would be a post on the pluses and minuses of Noah on the Bulls. I like Noah and think he’s fairly unique (his style of play is odd) I don’t think he’s a good fit with the Bulls. But this post is just about trading players and I think you should put that in the title next time so people can avoid these posts if they want.

You're right

Don’t tell anyone, but that was the secret. If I mentioned that I was going to propose a trade in the title, no one would read the post, because their thought would be: here comes another silly trade – for some people, still is, though…

I actually think that's a nice trade, Bull83,

both for the Sixers (who need a defensive minded big to complement Brand) and a point guard, and for us. The Bulls get a young post scorer and escape contract hell. The problem is, it can’t happen until Hinrich starts playing again, and establishes that he’s still good. That may not happen for awhile.

I would love to add Speights. The PER of 20.5 isn’t entirely a statistical anomaly. When you saw him at Florida, you saw a guy with both a perimeter shot and post moves. He’s also got legit size and strength at 6’10 250, while being a very good athlete. When I see him, he just reminds me a lot of Al Jefferson when he first came into the league – lotsa offense, not so much on defense.

For exactly those reasons, however, I don’t see Philly trading him, unless they’re convinced Brand is healthy and raring to go. And I certainly don’t think that’s gonna happen!

Heck yes.

that was my point though… don’t trade a gator away and take one back in return (unless his name is Horford of course).

Speights is intriguing

I think the sixers are pretty big on him. I still think we can get more than just an expiring for Hinrich alone, so I’d be exploring those trades first. Not opposed to dumping his salary or the right trade along these lines tho.

I like the idea...but let's take it up a notch.

The Elton Brand signing has not worked for the Sixers so far, why not take his burdensome contract off their hands as well…

We send them Hinrich (Long term PG), Nocioni (Role playing shooter), and Gooden (expiring) for Miller (expiring) and Brand (elusive post player). It works.
