TUESDAY'S WORST
Andres Nocioni, Bulls: Even though the Bulls beat the Kings, Nocioni gets this spot because he squeezed off 11 shots in just 12 minutes of action and missed 10 of them on the way to a three-point performance.
Comments
Only 2 Bulls players are capable of a game as above.
Nocioni is 1 of them. we all know the other.

Actually, I'm pretty sure BG- and any "shooter"- is more than capable of this.
Anyone else see the entire West Coast Circus Trip this year? BG was awful. Every shooter has an off night. Also, Rose was 2-for-10 in the first half Sat against the Wolves… and that was mostly missed layups, so yeah.
What bugs the shit outta me about Noc is his whining. This was ugly, but wasn’t as bad as one of his bitch-fests.

His era needs to end.
Before anybody’s. I think it’s delusional to think anyone needs to be got rid of before this guy.

I still believe (how stupid am I?) that Paxson will become competent...
…and eventually direct Del Negro not to play him, hire a new coach who won’t or just sending him home. When that happens, they have a fat expiring contract.
They don’t have that with Nocioni.

I'd rather have Noc than Gooden
At least Nocioni fouls out before he can accumulate significant minutes.

Even when he was hitting his shots?
You know, that 3 game stretch when he hit like 20+pts one, game, had 18 or 19 in the next 2?
Just contesting the “everyday” part. This feels like blind hatred on your part.

not to mention
you give 3 games out of 35 when he’s been not terrible?? Give me a break. If your argument is a 3-game sample size, you should just go away.

This morning on 670
Hanley briefly went through the trade assets, and insisted that while Tyrus and Noah have no value, Nocioni does because he plays hard.
This is absolutely insane, but please let it be something Hanley’s actually heard, and not just Hanley not knowing what the hell real value is.

If another GM thinks it, I'm sure Paxson does, too.
I’m sure he wants Nocioni to provide an example to Thomas and Noah on how to play hard. He doesn’t even care if, in his mind, it hasn’t worked yet.
Plus, we’ve heard (or a sportswriter did and we read) that Paxson isn’t necessarily pursuing 2010. That makes Nocioni’s contract less of an issue to him (or a non-issue, since he gave the contract).

I don't know
I think he needs to be put on the shelf for a few months. His whole playing at a 100% all the time and not resting up during the summer have to be hurting him. Maybe with a chance to rest and heal up all his nagging injuries we might see a return of t he guy who filled the UC with NO – CI – ON – I chants.

People are slowly starting to realize how bad he's been
The truth is, he’s played this year like someone who doesn’t belong in the league. He’s become completely undisciplined both offensively and defensively. He just fires up jumpers whenever he catches the ball, and he doesn’t even try to stay on his man anymore. When he and Hughes are in the game at the same time, there’s no ball movement whatsoever out there. I don’t know if he’s playing hurt or if he needs a strong coach (like Skiles) to rein him in, but either way, he shouldn’t be out there.

If we're ripping Noc for shooting wide open jumpers
could we at least get an alternative such as “pass it Noc” or “dribble penetrate”?
Last night Noc was taking WIDE OPEN shots. They were not falling. Noc is asked to shoot. A shooter can’t just pass on wide open attempts.
Dog him for the failure to drive when it’s the one resort a shooter has to use when their shot isn’t falling.

fine, blame Vinny
but if Noc goes 0-10 again, he should just take off his shoes, leave them midcourt, and retire.

Of course not.
Why should it be the same deal for a young player who is oozing with unfulfilled potential and a never ending stream of on court issues (dunk contest comments, deliberately taking a day off due to sulkiness, 2-17 games)?

Thomas contributes in ways besides shooting (most of the time, exclusively besides shooting)
if Noc isn’t hitting shots he shouldn’t be on the court.

Here's the issue for me:
he didn’t stop shooting. Immediately. When he got the ball, he shot. Jacking up 10 shots in 15 minutes is a lot for anybody. For a eighth man, who’s cold, it’s just unacceptable, stupid play.
I have a lot of criticism for VDN. But for me, his worst trait is that he caters to vets (Nocioni, Hughes) who shouldn’t be making mistakes that they do, while punishing young players who need need the experience.
And are better.

i don't doubt if Noc was 3-11 instead of 1-11
he would’ve remained. It’s that kind of learning curve with Vinny

What was the alternative?
Play Hughes more? Play Thabo more?
The Kings were collapsing on all of our guard penetration. We have to play 3 point shooters. Hughes and Thabo really aren’t 3 point shooters. Wait, why don’t we have more three point shooters?
I need to update my sig.
