I can't believe the Bulls are favored in this game

I know, but we haven't won there since MJ
Plus they’re probably saying: It’s the Bulls!

LOL
I sent Tyrus a fanmail about going to the hole first.
Really, SD20, really?
(and I don’t mean really by affirming your notion, I mean really in trying to twist this good start into being Gordon’s fault)
That screen roll with Rose and Noah needs to happen a lot more often

I'm sick of seeing people say that TT has reached his potential...

Tyrus' problem is and will remain to be rebounding
Until he starts grabbing more boards he will not truly arrive

What's wrong with fans, especially Bulls fans,
is that they’re almost as fair-weather as Philadelphia fans.
The moment he has a sub-par to shit game, people are going to say he’s too hyped. It’s just like you saying right now nice things about him in the 1st quarter when he’s playing well, not even after the first half ends.
Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts playing bad in this 2nd half and people start to blast him for it.
Why don't you wait until someone actually does that before you plat that card?

you were arguing...
whether or not people are like jekyl and hyde here with our players how one game they want them gone and the next they want to build a franchise around them depending on how they play. Which is exactly how this place is.
I agree with you TT assessment though on boards.

I don't think it's Jekyll and Hyde
It’s just that when you’re talking about sports (specifically one team) every day, there’s gonna be a lot different opinions by a lot of passionate people. And depending on what’s happening with the team those opinions are gonna fluctuate a little. There’s nothing wrong with fans getting angry at players. If I start bitching about Rose’s defense later this game that doesn’t mean I’m a fairweather fan, just that I’m a little frustrated at the moment
"One thing I do know is teams like a lot of our pieces. That's not to say they want to give us a lot of players in return, but I know they like a lot of our pieces." - John Paxson (1/21/09)
by Juiceboxjerry on Jan 30, 2009 9:49 PM CST up reply actions
There is something wrong...
in people exposing there tendency to be un-analytical, knee-jerk, and senseless. I realize that when one complains of a specific players defense, it is obviously a fair criticism at the moment—if not in total. But the phenomenon being highlighted is the extreme shift from complete adoring adulation to absurd calls for trades, insults, and things that complicate any sensible discourse on this website.
It is clear that this is a blog and rules of etiquette and pragmatism are irrelevant, nonetheless, it can be frustrating and it isn’t wrong to exhibit some frustration over fans just as one does over their team.
Yea, but you always come in here and just talk about how fans need to act
Why do you get to decide who’s being a good or bad fan? There’s nothing wrong with getting frustrated with your team and its players

the bulls look like they should look against bad teams..
playing like this would allow them to compete against the elites of the league….but then again they probably look this good cause its the kings….
Thabo does an excellent job of dropping dimes that lead to easy buckets.
I wish there was a differentiation in assists between assists that lead to layups or dunks and assists on jumpshots. I feel like Thabo would get most of his assists from threading the needle for an easy bucket.

Good to see some smiles on the Bulls bench.
General manager needs the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, and next year. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn't happen.

i actually don't mind the wild shot by TT, because he was going to the hoop and if Noah gets that board clean it's an easy bucket for him

still a TERRIBLE shot

it was a nice move...he was open...then just got crazy at the end...he didnt need to get crazy with that...didnt realize he was more open.
AND these shots are what keep his head in the game. if he doesn’t get touches and shots he pouts.
BG, Noce, they just stuff the offensive flow
Add Deng to the good lineup, even if he took a silly shot just then
yeah Stacy always does that

He is a four.
And he’s playing the 4 slot right now. I don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.
20 pounds lighter than lebron. 10 less than melo. 20 less than artest...about same as Marion
definately a tweener that can play both. but he wants to be a 3…he wants to bring the ball up…he wants to be on the perimeter.
AND! he has no p[ost game whatsoever.
like thabo.
shot and ball handling are much better and where they need to be when the confidence is where it needs to be.
he is obviously working on it

whoa
hold on. That’s not what I meant – I mean Vinny pulled him at the end of the half.
Rose should not, absolutely not be benched after this. I just meant he was playing poorly, and VDN yanked him.
The poster formerly known as Freethefro.
I like coaches who let their best players play through their struggles and yank role players who aren't playing well. I do not like this approach with Rose. It would be appropriate for Noc though
by fundamentallysound on Jan 30, 2009 10:21 PM CST up reply actions
seems reasonable.
especially with our track record for developing talent.
The poster formerly known as Freethefro.
I mean,
it scares the hell out of me that VDN would start jerking him around. But benching him for five minutes at the end of the half – after he’d played such garbage defense and turned it over a few times – isn’t a bad thing. Now I wanna see him (Derrick) respond.
The poster formerly known as Freethefro.
Then bench Nocioni, Tyrus, Kirk as well
Because they were all awful on defense. And Tyrus had two of the worst shot attempts ever, even by Tyrus standards.

And I gotta say it...
but Matt has to find a new big man to covet other than Brad Miller. Noah and Tyrus just absolutely dominated these guys. And we want them to help us?
Hell no. Noah absolutely kicked Hawes ass up and down the court. Good to see, especially because I had my doubts. I don’t anymore.
I take Noah any day.

Don't kid yourself. Let's use more than one game for our observation. Although tonight no doubt.
Derrick Rose will lead us back to the promise land.
In Vinny We Trust!
Point taken,
but it isn’t just one game. Over the last five games he’s averaging 10/8/3 on 67% shooting in only 28 mpg. That’s also counting the 0-0-0 stinker against Toronto.
Jo’s been playing really well. He could develop into an elite role player – kinda the Bruce Bowen of centers. If you paired him with a scoring power forward, like a STAT or a Boozer, we might actually have something.
As for Hawes, he is skilled, it’s true. But I can see Noah as the center on a championship team if he’s pair with the right kind of player. I can’t say the same for Spencer.
The poster formerly known as Freethefro.
I never liked Brad Miller, especially for a trade here
that would give up Noah or Thomas. For a swap of Thomas and Nocioni? Yeah, that sounds good, or for Hughes? Yeah, that’d be alright too. Even still, him being here would mean that he gets playing time, which would equal less PT for Thomas and/or Noah.
I mean, honestly, if the Bulls traded a 23 year-old with a PER 0.4 units less than Brad Miller, it would be hard to be a fan of the organization.
ilove that hughes isn't even a 20/20 guy anymore....
meaning he doest even get in when its a 20 point game with 20 seconds left…its beautiful
Isn't it?

yeah
and his punishment was really light, iirc. if he had hit him, it would have been way more severe, considering the injury he could have caused. however, the intent was there – no it shouldn’t have been as severe as if he had made contact, but a guy his size needs to be self aware and that he can’t just throw a punch at someone, even a guy almost his size. on the replay in the video here, it looks like he actually may have tried to take a 2nd swing at him too. but that shit was brutal.
best part of the game? the bulls won. it was awesome.
"They should. They better. I'm Vinny Del Negro!"
Nice find...
I just watched that video again. Man it could have been so much worse, and not just because Shaq didn’t hit him, but look at who was on the floor at the time… Oakley, Artest, Greg Anthony. O.K. maybe Anthony wasn’t THAT dirty, but damn, Artest will never live that shit down in the palace (going into the stands), and Oakley… Well… Oakley basically caused Shaq to go balistic in the first place. Crazy stuff.

Chicago Bulls Blog anf Forums. NBA Power Rankings.
It was great
to see TT and Noah have good games. The Derrick to Noah plays were great. They both should have made more of their free throws than they did. Hope they play tonight like they did last night. Kirk had a good game and Luol is really getting back into his game. I ntoiced during a time out in the 4th Kirk had his right hand all bandaged up. I hope they do this after each game and it wasn’t because he injured his hand again.
Most of all it was nice to see them having fun again and smiling and laughing.
When Noah and Tyrus play well
Everyone seems to be in a good mood (including the fans!) Even Larry Hughes was laughing it up, and I give props to Vinny for not even playing Big Shot Larry a single minute in a total blowout.

Maybe
Reinsdorf should speak openly and negatively about the team and effort and say he felt like booing them more often and call them embarassments….because we totally were on yesterday, withstanding just an incredible first quarter of awesome Kevin Martin style and just running the whole show from start to finish.
Tyrus Thomas looked amazing and really really stupid in the same game again, but his amazing start overshadowed his 2-3 completely idiotic Harlem Globetrotter esque moments that had the rest of the team not been tuned in like we were, could have given the Kings the green light to come back.
Noah was great.
Rose’s shot wasn’t falling, but he was sensational.
Deng was aggressive (for lke the 6th game in a row, which is awesome).
Hinrich played very well.
BG scored I think, I don’t think he had a particularly great game though….sadly.
THabo was the worst Bull last night though consistently, sure he had a nifty pass here and there, but he sucks.
Even Big Aaron made a few nice plays (that nice block and a couple nice passes and FG’s)…still had a few defensive woes, but the Kings are so badly coached that they didn’t do the attack Aaron Gray when he stops out to guard the guards (when he doesn’t need to).
Seriously the Kings fans should be upset, their team looked a lot better talent wise last season, this year they just mailed it in completely…..
Dude the Kings are fucking terrible
They don’t try, are awful at every aspect of the game, and have exactly 1 above average player on their team. The Bulls just blew out the Clippers, there was no reason in the world that they couldn’t blow this team out. Let’s see how they play the rest of the road trip out, we’ve been here so many times already this season. Bulls beat some awful teams, get the hopes up, and immediately go back to playing awful basketball.
