Around SBN: Bill Stewart Dead From Apparent Heart Attack

Not sure if someone has already linked to this in a different thread, if so, my apologies. Anyways, this guy seems to think that the Bulls may be jumping the gun on trading Hughes because there are more suitors out there with potentially better offers. Seriously.

Nets consider Hughes a "chemistry assasin"

The Nets have figured Hughes out, He is a chemistry assasin.

They believe that Hughes would help them win more games, but he will clog up $3 million more in cap space next year, and he is widely known around the league as a chemistry assassin.

The Nets did their due diligence on Hughes weeks ago, and one instance on March 4 was widely interpreted as telling: Three weeks after he was traded from Cleveland to Chicago, the 11th-year vet essentially said that he’d rather get shots with the Bulls than play in the NBA Finals for the Cavs, as he did the year before.

“I play to enjoy myself. Some people take this the wrong way, but winning a championship is not what I base everything on,” Hughes said. "I would rather enjoy myself with 18,000 to 20,000 people watching the game and the people sending fan mail and those things and be happy.

Mike Miller is a much better option for them

I wonder if the TWolves will take an expiring deal. They may: Miller has pretty much been checked out all season, and they can get way under the cap if they dump him.

but dude has seriously checked out, last 2 months of been pretty mediocre.

But the question is

is Simmons the best option for Memphis. Hopefully a better offer comes along or even one of the owner/GMs closer owner/GM from around the league and they work something out. That would leave New Jersey with the option of going back to the Bulls.

The trade deadline is still weeks away and anything can happen or fall apart before it passes.

That would be fine

if Hughes actually played the game in a way that was stopping ball movement and using horrible shot selection.

I’m not a “winning is everything” guy either but this is a bit much. Hes getting paid to give a damn he could at least act like it.

so much for that...

…so who does Pax pawn Hughes off on now?

The Mavs?

Since they’ve traded Diop, I doubt that they’re even remotely considering trading Dampier now. But maybe for Stackhouse and a mess of their sucky perimeter guys they’ve got signed through next year?

Or we can hope it’s all hogwash about the Heat trading Marion for O’Neal?
