Locker room notes for Bulls/Raps

My blog buddy Ryan McNeill sent this along, several tidbits about Hughes being ostracized, the Bulls being pretty mellow (or simply distant?) even after a victory, and another Lindsey Hunter mentoring story.

Yeah, I must say that I'm giving mad props to Vinny for this one.

He really sacked up here. Good for him. F Hughes.

Speaking of energy, I was shocked at how calm the Bulls locker room was after the game. Despite holding on for a huge road win after losing eight of the past nine on the road, the Bulls locker room was eerily quiet.

Didn’t they draft Noah because of stuff like this? Noah had all kinds of enthusiasm and personality coming out of Florida now he’s a downer like the rest of these guys. It’s strange how over time the team has maintained that same workmanlike, boring demeanor. How the hell can they liven this team up a bit? As much as I like Derrick Rose, he’s leading the pack in that regard. He talks like he’s on death row not an NBA basketball team.

Noah's gotta be professional man

if he wants to keep playing the 17 minutes he was so kindly awarded tonight.

Sure, I would agree with that

I’m just trying to point out how weird it is that every player that comes to this team seems to have a real downer personality. And even the ones that didn’t have it prior to coming here (Noah) eventually fall in line. The only regular players that kinda break the mold are Gooden and Noc.

I think they were subdued

because it’s hard to get excited with this record. Everyone in that locker room thinks we’re better than this, so one win like this one isn’t going to pump guys up. If we beat Cleveland tonight, then I think we’ll see some energy.

true

and if they were all jumping around, there’d be complains that they’re too content with their suckitude.

Not that I was in the locker room

but my only counter would be that the Bulls needed to get showered, dressed, and on the plane to get back to Chicago for the game tonight. I’m sure they were thinking about all the things they need to do before the plane takes off. Hopefully they are thinking about how to beat the Cavs too

Good information

We can’t have Larry around anymore. The less he is around the team the better they will be.

At least he doesn't have a bunch of guys in his corner for him to bitch to, ya know.

Makes me think if he racked up a bunch of DNPs, it might not be as much of a disruption as the Bulls brass has been afraid of.

When Larry Legend is out there

all I do is watch the other four Bulls to see how they react to his free will. I know he’s going to jack a shot the first chance he gets so what use it is to watch him?

It's Larry "un-legend"

Larry Legend is Larry Bird (and rightfully so).

Come on, Sell baby

We should be acting like DNP-CD for Hughes is one step closer for Hughes to the MVP of the team trophy.

MVP = Most Valuable Pinerider?

There's nothing wrong with not being excited in beating a team just as shitty

Beat the Cavs and they can throw a party and throw Larry Hughes’ stuff in the showers.

Vinny Del Negro interviewed for the job today. I mean come on! Nobody else thinks this is nuts?
